Education:
    • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
    • Master of Education (M.Ed)
  • Certificate In Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Cambridge CELTA) and (Trinity CertTESOL) Level 5 TEFL Diploma.
  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s of Education (B.Ed.) or Bachelor’s in English.
  • A Master’s of Education (M.Ed.) or Master’s in English will be preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in renowned English medium or international schools.
  • Experience in a Cambridge Curriculum School or International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) school is desirable.

Responsibilities & Context:
  • Create a climate which enables staff to develop and maintain positive attitudes towards English and confidence in teaching it.
  • With the involvement of staff, establish short-, medium- and long-term plans for the development and resourcing of the subject.
  • Provide guidance on the choice of appropriate teaching and learning methods to meet the needs of the subject and of different students.
  • Monitor the teaching and learning progress made in achieving plans and targets.
  • Ensure that teachers are clear about the teaching objectives in lessons, understand the sequence of teaching and learning in the subject and communicate such information to students.
  • Work with staff to establish a partnership with parents to involve them in their child’s learning as well as providing information about curriculum, attainment, progress, and targets.
  • Establish clear expectations and constructive working relationships among staff involved with the subject, including through team working and mutual support; devolving responsibilities and delegating tasks, as appropriate.
  • Make sure that the existing and new subject teachers are appropriately trained, monitored and supported.
  • Maintain a chain of command in keeping the higher authority informed about academic excellence.
  • Must have the inclination to update the knowledge on English to cope up with the Cambridge Curriculum.
