Job Context:
∎ Contract period: Three months
∎ Line Manager: GBV Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responds to calls from the DCA women and girl safe spaces, and training centres to arrange emergency repairs
∎ Create work plan that prioritizes repair work based on urgency following periods of poor weather.
∎ Conduct repairs in a timely and high quality way
∎ Ensure that all workers are paid in a timely manner
∎ Supervise the quality of all workers' output
∎ Ensure all workers operate according to the DCA Code of Conduct
∎ Ensure all DCA Women and Girls Safe Spaces are strengthened to withhold poor weather.
∎ Emergency response if required.
∎ Check the quality of vendor supplied materials.
∎ Prepare tender documents for request for quotations
∎ Perform spot checks
∎ Update the programme manager and donor on damage exisitng, and repairs needed.
∎ Supervise construction of 2 safe spaces in the host community.
∎ Liaise with other actors such as WASH to identify the best locations to construct latrines and water points
Additional Requirements:
∎ 3-5 years of relevant work or 5-10 years working experience with diploma in civil engineering.
∎ Experience of construction for the semi-urban and rural structure communities
∎ Experience of working in the Rohingya camps
∎ Knowledge of low cost and environmentally friendly engineering of structures for community usage
∎ Knowledge of protection principles and minimum humanitarian standards
∎ Professional membership on Engineering
∎ Strong facilitation, analytical, negotiation, coordination, communications, and management skills
∎ Ability and willingness to work in team
∎ Experience of community conflict management
∎ Experience of working in multi-cultural environments an advantage
∎ Excellent writing and reporting skills
