Responsibilities & Context:
∎ BRAC is an international development organization founded in Bangladesh that partners with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty globally to create sustainable opportunities to realize potential.
∎ BRAC is implementing a skills development and livelihoods project called "Improving Skills and Economic Opportunities in Cox's Bazar (ISEC)" with the support of Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and in partnership with the ILO. The aim of the project is the economic empowerment of the host community in Cox’s Bazar district through gender-sensitive, market-relevant skills development. The ISEC project focuses on bolstering the economic empowerment and participation of various groups—especially women, people with disabilities, adolescents, and youths—within the host community of Cox's Bazar. A key objective of the project is to improve the employability and economic resilience of almost 24,000 individuals from the host community in Cox's Bazar.To develop the project implementation team, BRAC is welcoming applications from the interested candidates for the following position: Deputy Manager - Procurement Coordination, ISEC Project, Skills Development Programme.
∎ Major Responsibilities
∎ • Oversee the procurement process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing.
∎ • Coordinate and manage vendor contracts, ensuring adherence to terms, and resolving any disputes that arise.
∎ • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favorable pricing and delivery terms.
∎ • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
∎ • Monitor market trends to forecast and anticipate price fluctuations or supply chain risks.
∎ • Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, donor requirements, and industry regulations.
∎ • Work closely with finance, operations, and project management team to ensure procurement aligns with project needs and timelines.
∎ • Ensure effective communication between all stakeholders involved in the procurement process.
∎ • Establish and maintain a strong coordination channel with the Finance & Accounts and programmes to integrate relevant data into reports, as required.
∎ • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
