Educational Qualifications:

• PhD in relevant field, prederably from a reputed foreign university.

• Minimum GPA/CGPA of 4.5 in both SSC and HSC, and 3.5 in both Honours and Master's degrees.

Experience:

• A minimum of 13 years of teaching or equivalent experience, of which 6 years must be as Associate Professor. 

• The candidates having leadership in academic administration including Dean, Associate Dean at any Public/Private university will get preferences.

Publications: A minimum of 15 high-quality publications is required.

As the head of the Faculty, the Dean will provide overall leadership to the five engineering departments under FSE and will be responsible for, among others:

• Providing academic leadership and coordinating the strategic direction, curriculum development and quality of teaching, research and examinations across all departments of the faculty.

• Ensuring that the provisions of the Private University Act 2010, GUB Statutes, Regulations and Rules are faithfully observed, and exercising administrative control over all teachers and staff of the faculty.

• Maintaining effective communication and coordination among the Chairpersons, faculty members and students of the CSE, EEE, Textile Engineering, AI & Data Science and Software Engineering departments.

• Leading staff recruitment for the faculty, including chairing or establishing selection committees for academic and administrative appointments.

• Holding overall budgetary authority and responsibility for the faculty, including preparing, sanctioning and monitoring the faculty budget in line with university practices.

• Proposing new academic programmes, departments and posts, and coordinating the assessment and continuous development of existing programmes.

• Fostering and encouraging research, publications and academic link programmes with reputed universities, nationally and internationally.

• Acting as the principal spokesperson of the faculty and representing the university at national and international academic forums.

• Taking timely decisions, including emergency action where required, and reporting such action to the Vice-Chancellor as soon as practicable.

• Performing such other powers and functions as may be prescribed by the Government, Board of Trustees or other competent authorities of the University.
