Technical Skills:
Good knowledge of construction methods and site supervision.
Ability to read and understand civil and structural drawings.
Basic knowledge of quantity measurement and estimation.
Knowledge of RCC works, reinforcement/rebar, structural detailing, formwork, brickwork, plastering, tile fitting, painting, sanitary and plumbing works, electrical wiring, finishing works, and other civil construction activities.
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
Basic knowledge of surveying and leveling will be considered an advantage.
Knowledge of construction quality control and safety procedures.
Knowledge of preparing Gantt charts and work schedules.

Responsibilities & Context
Job Purpose:
The Construction Engineer will be responsible for supervising and monitoring day-to-day construction activities at the project site. The position will ensure that all construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and the approved project schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise day-to-day construction activities at the project site.
Read and understand structural, architectural, and civil engineering drawings.
Ensure that construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
Monitor layout and marking, excavation, earthworks, foundations, RCC works, brickwork, plastering, flooring, roofing, drainage, road works, painting, tile installation, plumbing and sanitary works, electrical wiring, and other civil construction activities.
Check the line, level, alignment, dimensions, and quality of construction works.
Prepare estimates and determine the required quantities of construction materials.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, skilled workers, and other site personnel.
Monitor the use and quality of construction materials and ensure their proper storage at the site.
Assist in quantity measurement, preparation of bills, work orders, and material requisitions.
Maintain daily site records, including manpower, construction materials, equipment, work progress, and day-to-day site activities.
Prepare daily and weekly progress reports as required.
Promptly report any construction-related problems or issues to the Project Manager/Engineer or concerned authority.
Assist in preparing work schedules and monitoring progress against the approved timeline.
Ensure that required Quality Control procedures are properly implemented at the site.
Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety requirements and instructions.
Coordinate with surveyors for setting-out, leveling, measurements, and layout works.
Maintain appropriate coordination, where applicable, with the Consultants, Senior Engineers, and any other designated authority.
Monitor the proper use of construction materials and other resources to minimize wastage.
Able to effectively and professionally handle difficult beneficiaries, local troublemakers, influential individuals, and other challenging stakeholders, while maintaining patience, professionalism, and calmness under all circumstances.
Inspect completed works and identify any defects or requirements for rectification.
Properly maintain all necessary project documents, including drawings, measurements, inspection records, and site instructions.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Supervising Engineer.
