Responsibilities & Context:
A cosmetics chemist is responsible for developing and formulating Cosmetic products such as skincare, haircare and fragrances.
The job responsibilities typically include:
Researching and developing new formulations for cosmetic products based on market trends, consumer preferences, and regulatory requirements.
Selecting and sourcing raw materials and ingredients for use in cosmetic formulations.
Conducting experiments and tests to ensure the safety, stability, and efficacy of cosmetic products.
Collaborating with other teams, such as marketing and production, to bring cosmetic products from concept to launch.
Staying current on industry trends, new technologies, and innovations in cosmetic science.
Addressing and troubleshooting issues related to product performance, stability and quality.
Ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines set by the government regulatory agency, such as the BSTI (Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution) Cosmetics Regulation.
Continuously improving existing formulations and processes to enhance product performance and meet consumer expectations.
Overall, a cosmetics chemist plays a vital role in the research, development and production of safe and effective cosmetic products that meet consumer needs and regulatory standards.
