Experience

• Minimum 10–15 years of practical experience as a Boiler Operator in an industrial environment (Preferably in Paper Mills or large manufacturing plants).
• Proven experience in handling high-pressure boilers, water treatment systems and boiler auxiliaries.
• Preferred Skills & Qualifications
• Must hold a valid 1st Class Boiler Operator License issued by the Chief Inspector of Boilers, Bangladesh.
• Minimum S.S.C. Diploma in Power/Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical field will get preference.
• Strong understanding of boiler operation, maintenance and safety protocols.
• Knowledge of fuel handling systems, feed water treatment and combustion efficiency.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Position Purpose

To operate, monitor and maintain the steam boiler system ensuring safe, efficient and continuous steam supply for paper mill operations. The position requires a valid boiler operator license and sound technical knowledge of boiler operation, maintenance and safety standards in compliance with Bangladesh Boiler Regulations and factory safety policies.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain high-pressure steam boilers in compliance with the Boiler Act, Rules and safety standards of Bangladesh.
• Monitor boiler performance, pressure, temperature and water levels to ensure stable and efficient operation.
• Perform daily start-up, shutdown and blow down procedures as per standard operating guidelines.
• Inspect, clean and lubricate boiler equipment regularly to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal efficiency.
• Maintain proper records of boiler log sheets, fuel consumption, water treatment and operational data.
• Check and control feed water quality, fuel quality and combustion efficiency.
• Detect and troubleshoot boiler-related problems, leaks and abnormal noises promptly and report to the maintenance engineer.
• Assist in periodic inspection, testing and certification of boilers by the Chief Inspector of Boilers (CIB).
• Follow standard safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and corrective maintenance of boiler and auxiliary systems.
• Monitor and maintain sufficient stock of fuel, chemicals and spares required for boiler operation.
• Support energy-saving initiatives and maintain records for fuel consumption efficiency reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized working environment in the boiler house.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management related to utility operation and factory maintenance.

Working Relationships

Internal: Production, Maintenance, Utility, Electrical, Safety and Compliance Departments.

External: Chief Inspector of Boilers (CIB), Local Authorities, Vendors and Service Contractors.
