1. Advanced Teaching Responsibilities

A. Core Subject Delivery

The Associate Professor delivers instruction across all major subdivisions of anatomy at an advanced level.

B. Teaching Methods

The Associate Professor employs diverse teaching methodologies:

• Large group lectures for MBBS, BDS, and allied health students

• Small group tutorials and problem-based learning sessions

• Dissection hall supervision - guiding students through cadaveric dissection with emphasis on clinical relevance

• Practical demonstrations using prosected specimens, models, and imaging

C. Curriculum Development

As a senior faculty member, the Associate Professor actively contributes to:

• Curriculum review and updating in accordance with BMDC and DGME guidelines

• Implementation of competency-based medical education (CBME)

• Integration of newer technologies including digital anatomy tools, 3D models, and virtual dissection software

• Alignment of teaching objectives with national standards 

D. Educational Tool Preparation

The Associate Professor is responsible for creating and updating:

• Lecture presentations and teaching materials

• Dissection guides and prosection demonstrations

• Histology slide selections and atlases

• Assessment tools for both formative and summative evaluation

2. Student Assessment and Examination Administration

A. Undergraduate Assessment (MBBS/BDS)

The Associate Professor plays a senior role in the comprehensive assessment system:

Formative Assessment (In-course):

• Conducting term examinations (three terms during Phase I)

• Administering card final examinations (six per year)

• Evaluating practical notebooks, dissection records, and histology drawings

Summative Assessment (Professional Examinations):

• Serving as examiner for university First Professional MBBS examinations

• Setting question papers for theory examinations

• Evaluating answer scripts

• Conducting practical and oral (viva voce) examinations

B. Quality Assurance in Assessment

The Associate Professor contributes to:

• Ensuring examination standards align with BMDC requirements

• Maintaining confidentiality and security of examination materials

3. Research and Scholarly Activities

A. Academic Engagement

• Active membership in professional bodies (e.g., Anatomical Society of Bangladesh)

4. Departmental Leadership and Administration

A. Senior Departmental Role
