1. Core Teaching Responsibilities
A. Lecture Delivery
The Assistant Professor conducts large-group lectures across multiple subjects within anatomy. Based on the DGME curriculum operational manual for Phase I (First Professional MBBS).
B. Practical & Laboratory Instruction
The Assistant Professor plays an active role in hands-on teaching sessions:
Dissection Hall Supervision: Guiding students during cadaveric dissection, demonstrating anatomical structures, and ensuring proper dissection techniques
Histology Practicals: Supervising microscopic examination of tissue slides, helping students identify histological structures, and reviewing their practical notebook drawings
Small Group Teaching: Facilitating small group discussions, tutorials, and problem-based learning sessions as per the curriculum's educational strategies
C. Educational Strategy Implementation
As per the DGME curriculum guidelines, Assistant Professors are expected to implement specific educational strategies :
Emphasizing function-structure relationships for every anatomical structure described
Using a "visual first, text second" approach
Incorporating three-dimensional and sectional aspects in teaching

Administering card final examinations (six card finals annually)
Evaluating practical notebooks, dissection records, and histology drawings
Providing feedback to students for improvement
B. Summative (Professional) Examination Duties
The Assistant Professor will serves as:
Examiner for university professional examinations (as BMDC regulations permit)
Question paper setter (under supervision of senior faculty)
Answer script evaluator
Practical and oral examiner
C. Mark Calculation & Record Keeping
Assistant Professors assist in :
Maintaining formative assessment marks (term exams, card finals)
Ensuring students meet prerequisites (75% attendance in lectures, 80% in practicals/dissection) before appearing in professional examinations

3. Curriculum Support & Development
A. Educational Tool Preparation
The Assistant Professor is responsible for preparing various teaching-learning materials :
