∎ Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil Engineering or B.Sc. in Safety Engineering / Occupational Health & Safety will be preferred or any other relevant discipline from any recognised university/ institution.

∎ Incident investigation and root cause analysis.
∎ Technological skills in using inspection tools and report software.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Ensure full compliance with national safety regulations (including BNBC), BRAC standards, and industry best practices in all electro-mechanical and facility management operations.
∎ Conduct risk and hazard assessments for MEP systems and maintenance activities. Recommend and implement mitigation strategies.
∎ Design and implement safety orientation and periodic refresher training for all maintenance personnel (engineers, technicians, store staff, etc.)
∎ Carry out routine inspections and spot checks across all facilities to identify unsafe conditions, monitor PPE use, and enforce compliance with safety protocols.
∎ Develop, update, and simulate emergency response plans (e.g., fire safety, electrical fault, lift entrapment). Ensure all staff are trained and familiar with emergency procedures.
∎ Investigate safety incidents, analyze root causes, and document findings. Propose corrective and preventive actions.
∎ Maintain all safety-related records, including training logs, inspection checklists, compliance reports, and incident registers. Share periodic safety reports with supervisors.
∎ Work collaboratively with other departments (Construction, Procurement, Transport, etc.) to ensure integrated safety practices in shared activities or projects.
∎ Identify and implement ongoing improvements in workplace safety culture and systems through innovation, staff feedback, and best practice benchmarking.
∎ Research, recommend, and implement innovative safety practices, technologies, and sustainability-linked solutions (e.g., energy-efficient emergency systems, eco-friendly safety gear) to enhance the overall safety culture and operational effectiveness of the department.
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
∎ Job Purpose: Ensure implementation of workplace safety measures in all MEP operations of the Maintenance & Operation Department, including building services (Substation, Generator, HVAC, Lift, Plumbing, etc.). Plan and deliver training programs to enhance the safety awareness and compliance among technicians, supervisors, and engineers. Monitor daily activities and provide guidance to ensure adherence to safety protocols, organizational standards, and regulatory codes.
