Responsibilities & Context:
∎ 1. Support the Senior Chef
∎ Assist with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food, ensuring high-quality standards are met at all times.Follow instructions from the Head Chef, helping to execute daily menus and special dishes.
∎ 2. Kitchen Organization
∎ Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring all kitchen tools, utensils, and ingredients are stored correctly.Assist with inventory management, checking stock levels, and ensuring ingredients are available for daily operations.
∎ 3. Food Preparation
∎ Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, and measuring, ensuring consistency and quality in the preparation of dishes.
∎ Assist in the preparation of sauces, stocks, soups, and other foundational elements of the menu.
∎ 4. Cooking & Plating
∎ Cook dishes according to the restaurant’s recipes, adhering to portion sizes and presentation standards.
∎ Plate dishes attractively, ensuring visual appeal and consistency across all orders.
∎ 5. Quality Control & Food Safety
∎ Ensure that food is prepared in a hygienic environment and stored at the correct temperatures.
∎ Adhere to food safety regulations and cleanliness standards, including the proper handling and disposal of waste.
∎ 6. Team Collaboration
∎ Work closely with other kitchen staff, including line cooks and dishwashers, to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
∎ Assist in training junior kitchen staff and interns, promoting teamwork and skill development.
∎ 7. Adaptability & Flexibility
∎ Help manage special dietary requests and last-minute changes to orders efficiently.
∎ Adapt to busy periods, staying focused and productive during high-pressure situations.
∎ 8. Menu Support & Innovation
∎ Assist in the development and testing of new recipes, contributing to the evolution of the menu.
∎ Help with seasonal menu changes, including ingredient sourcing and preparation.
∎ 9. Time Management & Multitasking
∎ Manage multiple kitchen tasks simultaneously, ensuring that food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
∎ Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
∎ 10. Customer Experience
∎ Contribute to providing an exceptional dining experience by ensuring food is of the highest quality.
∎ Help maintain a positive, friendly, and professional atmosphere in the kitchen.
