Education

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering

Additional Requirements

• Fresh graduates may apply; however, preference will be given to candidates with practical industrial experience.

• Knowledge of diesel engines, heavy machinery, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, or industrial maintenance activities.

• Experience in railways, power plants, manufacturing facilities, shipyards, heavy engineering workshops, automobile industries, or industrial maintenance environments will be considered as an advantage.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical documentation.

• Good communication and report-writing skills in English.

Responsibilities & Context

Context: Desh International Limited (DIL), the authorized representative and engineering support partner for Progress Rail USA, is seeking dynamic, technically competent, and motivated engineers to provide daily engineering support services to Bangladesh Railway locomotives operating across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring of diesel-electric locomotives.

• Support locomotive overhauls, component replacements, and preventive maintenance activities.

• Conduct technical assessments and prepare engineering reports.

• Coordinate with Bangladesh Railway maintenance depots and workshop personnel.

• Monitor locomotive reliability, availability, and operational performance.

• Ensure compliance with OEM maintenance practices and engineering standards.
