Job Context:
∎ We are looking for an Academic Coordinator for A’ Level – with experience in teaching Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE). He/she needs to be familiar with CAIE A ‘Level overall curriculum. CAIE training in specialist subject will be preferred.
∎ Chittagong Grammar School – Dhaka (CGS-D) Banani campus
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide inputs for timetable scheduling and faculty allocation
∎ Develop/revise appropriate curriculum with the CAIE boundaries in mind every 3-4 years/ Implement existing curriculum which is an established one
∎ Oversee the development of resources and teaching materials
∎ Supervise all Department Heads and chair regular meetings
∎ Identify staff needs and develop training programs
∎ Check Lesson Plan books of teachers in a routine manner and provide feedback
∎ Ensure that whatever is penned down in Lesson Plan books are being realistically implemented in classes
∎ Assess educational materials and evaluate educational technologies being used by school
∎ Mentor new teachers to help them develop effective instructional methods and strategies and give hands-on pointers as and when needed
∎ Work closely with school administrators and other relevant educational personnel to ensure compliance with educational standards, CGS policies, student performance, and accountability
∎ Fulfill coaching and staff development duties to help teachers build strong instructional skills and a deeper understanding of educational tools and technologies available to them.
∎ Train teachers with appropriate class-management skills
∎ Assess teacher performance by observing classes and provide periodic feedback for improvement.
∎ Assess student performance to determine in what ways instructional approaches need to be changed or modified by teaches for better student connectivity.
∎ Sit with students on a one-on-one basis if academic help is required which teachers are not being able to fulfill.
∎ Be aware of advanced classes being held all across and monitor progress.
∎ Follow up with red-flagged students’ progress
∎ Monitor timely implementation of parent and student notification on poor academic progress (potential for conditional promotion / retention / expulsion)
∎ Encourage diligence, organization, responsibility, self-reliance, co-operation, teamwork, honesty, understanding and tolerance in students as well as colleagues.
∎ Create and foster an environment that allows sharing of best practices among colleagues.
∎ Help to develop the skill set of colleagues to optimize team productivity.
∎ Attend and support School activities as per the school calendar, Dates and Deadlines & the monthly working calendar.
∎ Coordinate Graduation Ceremony and Awards ceremonies along with the Events Team.
∎ Review syllabuses and contribute to the design, evaluation and development of Block & Detailed Syllabus / LTCP (Long Term Curriculum Planning).
∎ Supervise Exam routines prepared by the Exam Dept.
∎ Liaise with British Council for A’ Level students
∎ Upload grade forecasting along with the Head of School
∎ Attend meetings with parents of A’ Level students for allowing registration of specific subjects
∎ Attend meetings with parents of A’ Level students for result delivery
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 55 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Specialised knowledge in academic year planning and implementation
∎ Oral and written communication skills
∎ Ability to lead teams with tested outcomes
∎ Problem solver and a go-getter
∎ Professional Certification – teacher trainings like CIDTT / CELTA / DELTA preferred
∎ Minimum 5 years’ experience in school setting
∎ Computer literacy is a must
∎ Both males and females may apply
∎ Minimum 5 years teaching experience in reputed English medium schools.
∎ Good level of proficiency in English (both verbal & written) and Bangla is essential.
