Responsibilities & Context:
∎ 1. **Leadership & Management:**
∎ - Lead and manage the Mechanical Engineering team, including engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff.
∎ - Develop and implement departmental goals, objectives, and strategies in alignment with overall plant objectives.
∎ - Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and innovation within the team.
∎ 2. **Maintenance & Reliability:**
∎ - Oversee the maintenance and repair of key machinery, including solvent extraction equipment, refining units, and associated mechanical systems.
∎ - Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
∎ - Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards, conducting regular safety audits and inspections.
∎ 3. **Operational Optimization:**
∎ - Monitor and analyze equipment performance to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
∎ - Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration and operation of mechanical systems with overall plant processes.
∎ - Manage and oversee major mechanical projects, including upgrades, installations, and process improvements.
∎ 4. **Budget & Resource Management:**
∎ - Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation.
∎ - Procure and manage spare parts and tools, ensuring adequate inventory levels and cost control.
∎ 5. **Training & Development:**
∎ - Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
∎ - Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements, incorporating relevant innovations into departmental practices.
