∎ Experience in transportation route planning, logistics operations, and supply chain management.
∎ Strong experience with TMS, ERP systems, or logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms).
∎ Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
∎ Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
∎ In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and logistics operations.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of transportation operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods to customers and warehouses.
∎ Evaluate and select transportation providers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong relationships with logistics partners.
∎ Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures for transport operations.
∎ Manage and monitor the flow of goods, materials, and inventory across the supply chain to optimize logistics performance.
∎ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support inventory management and ensure alignment between transportation and warehousing needs.
∎ Oversee the tracking and reporting of all transportation activities, including dispatch, delivery times, and issue resolution.
∎ Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing training and guidance on logistics operations and best practices.
∎ Coordinate workload distribution among logistics staff, ensuring adequate staffing during peak periods.
∎ Assist in the preparation of the transport and logistics budget, ensuring that costs are kept within forecasted limits.
∎ Monitor logistics expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities in transportation and delivery processes.
∎ Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.
∎ Develop and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers, negotiating contracts, rates, and service levels.
∎ Evaluate and select suppliers and vendors, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and service level agreements.
∎ Identify opportunities for improving transportation and logistics processes and implement best practices.
∎ Drive initiatives to enhance data accuracy, reporting, and real-time tracking systems.
∎ The Sr. Executive/Assistant Manager, Transport & Logistics, will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing transportation and logistics operations within the organization. The individual will oversee the efficient movement of goods, coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and third-party providers, and ensure compliance with all regulations. This position also focuses on cost optimization, process improvements, and team coordination to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery solutions.
