∎ Job Title: Pharmaceutical Sourcing Coordinator
∎ Job Summary:
∎ The Pharmaceutical Sourcing Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing and procurement of raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), packaging materials, and other supplies essential to the company's manufacturing operations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers. The Sourcing Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials while upholding quality and regulatory compliance standards.
∎ Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Sourcing and Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for pharmaceutical raw materials, APIs, packaging materials, and other necessary supplies. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
∎ 2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all sourcing activities adhere to relevant regulatory requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA regulations, and other industry standards. Keep abreast of regulatory changes and updates to ensure compliance across the supply chain.
∎ 3. Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable and consistent supply of materials. Conduct regular supplier assessments, audits, and performance reviews to monitor quality, reliability, and compliance with contractual agreements.
∎ 4. Inventory Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and optimize stock levels to meet production requirements while minimizing excess inventory and stockouts.
∎ 5. Risk Management: Identify and assess risks within the pharmaceutical supply chain, including supplier disruptions, raw material shortages, quality issues, and geopolitical factors. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize impact on production schedules and product quality.
∎ 6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to align sourcing strategies with product development timelines and quality requirements.
∎ 7. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains within the sourcing and procurement function. Implement best practices and initiatives to streamline sourcing processes and optimize supply chain performance.
∎ 8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities, contracts, supplier agreements, and regulatory documentation. Generate reports and metrics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights into sourcing performance and cost savings initiatives.
∎ Qualifications:
∎ - Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
∎ - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
∎ - Strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry regulations, including GMP, FDA regulations, and international regulatory requirements.
∎ - Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
∎ - Proficiency in sourcing tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
∎ - Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
∎ - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
∎ - Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
∎ - Proven track record of driving cost savings, process improvements, and supplier performance enhancements.
