∎ NEBOSH IGC or NEBOSH Diploma is preferable; knowledge of LOPA, ATEX, QRA or functional safety will be an added advantage.

∎ Familiarity with national safety laws, DoE and DIFE compliance, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Act as the lead coordinator for major process safety studies, including PHA/HAZOP, LOPA, ATEX compliance assessments, SIS, SIF validation, and quantitative risk assessments (QRA).
∎ Review and interpret national and international safety codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, API, ISO, IFC) to enhance and ensure the effectiveness of the Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
∎ Analyze and interpret P&IDs, cause & effect diagrams and safety requirement specifications (SRS) to support safety reviews and operational improvements.
∎ Design, lead, and evaluate technical mock drill scenarios, including emergency response planning; incorporate post-drill lessons into continuous improvement strategies.
∎ Liaise and coordinate with Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense for fire license renewals & conducting periodic training and mock drills.
∎ Develop rescue and emergency response plans for critical activities such as confined space entry & critical lifting operations.
∎ Prepare and implement Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA) for operations, maintenance and project-related activities.
∎ Lead and facilitate the Management of Change (MOC) process to evaluate and control risks during changes in process or operations.
∎ Conduct a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for non-routine or high-risk tasks and ensure effective implementation of control measures.
∎ Monitor and enforce compliance with the Permit to Work (PTW) system for high-risk operations (e.g., hot work, confined space, electrical work).
∎ Perform Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) to verify system readiness before commissioning and startup.
∎ Promote a strong process safety culture through safety audits, toolbox meetings, training sessions and awareness campaigns.
∎ Develop training content related to emergency response, process safety management, and deliver class room based training and physical demonstration.
