A Security Guard is responsible for protecting people, property, and assets by maintaining a safe and secure environment. Their duties can vary depending on the workplace (e.g., offices, malls, hospitals, construction sites), but generally include the following:
Key Responsibilities
Patrolling premises regularly to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or unsafe conditions
Monitoring CCTV cameras and alarm systems
Checking the identification of visitors and employees
Controlling entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized access
Responding to alarms, emergencies, and disturbances
Taking appropriate action during incidents such as theft, fire, or medical emergencies
Writing daily activity reports and incident reports
Documenting suspicious activities and security breaches
Assisting visitors and provide directions when needed
Maintaining a professional and courteous presence
Ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations
Inspecting equipment and surroundings for hazards
