Educational Requirements:
∎ BSc in Civil Engineering from BUET or any other Leading Engineering University [Local or Overseas University (preferable)]
∎ Msc in Civil Engineering
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 15 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Develop and Maintain a Professional working relationship with the Client Department, Local/International Project Consultant, Subcontractors, Suppliers and Any other relevant Stakeholders
∎ 2. Responsible for overall Road/Highway, Bridge, Flyover Construction Project Execution from the beginning till the end (including any possible maintenance construction period); and contract management in compliance to the contract documents based on FIDIC
∎ Working on Variation Order applications, Rate Analysis of existing BOQ and any new tender items; Price Escalation, time extension & contractual financial claims, final completion certificate, and defects liability periods and defects liability certificate; as per latest FIDIC condition of contract
∎ Supervise every components of road/highway, bridges and drainage structures
∎ Involved with survey works, drawings preparation, preparation of Interim Payment Certificates and overall timely Bill Collection
∎ Recruit, train and develop the necessary project team including structural/highway/materials engineers, supervisors, surveyors and quality control staff
∎ 3. Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation; and formulate the project construction strategies accordingly
∎ Preparation of works program & periodic progress reports, and demonstrate written professional communication skills
∎ Directly involved in participation of monthly progress review meetings with the consultants, clients and the donor agency.
∎ Propose and implement modern work methodologies including quality assurance plan (QAP) in line with contractual documents that increases rate of progress and do NOT affect construction quality, and have any environmental or ecological impacts.
∎ 4. Establishment and management of a well-equipped project materials testing laboratory for conducting the specified tests (during construction) on materials and works as per AASHTO, ASTM test procedures
∎ 5. Establishment, operation & management of different types of Road Construction Plant & Equipment [Concrete crushing plant and mixing plant, stone crushing plant, Hot mix (Asphalt) production plant, and a fleet of earth moving, transporting and grading & compacting equipment]; Must ensure Fuel for equipment is being used as efficiently as possible
∎ 6. Managing Project Materials in an effective manner by ensuring that all materials purchased has arrived on the project site as accurate as possible by using proper measurements
∎ 7. Maintain a clear set of Project Accounts, and ensure proper financial management for the assigned project by making sure project expenditure does not get out of control
∎ 8. Managing project progress and adapt work program as required
∎ Capacity to manage high stress situations with an ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously
∎ Demonstrate Leadership skills and Conflict resolution skills
∎ 9. Any other project specific tasks assigned by the Director of HR
Additional Requirements:
∎ Skills required: Microsoft Office, AutoCad, Microsoft Project, strong analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills in Bangla and English
∎ Working Experience:
∎ MUST have at least 15-20 years working experience in Roads/Highways, Flyover, Bridge and/or Building Construction (FIDIC) Projects as a Project Manager
∎ Applicants must have proven, verifiable and significant experience working in ADB and JICA funded infrastructure projects (Lot of references will be needed, along with evidence that applicant has successfully implemented large-scale infrastructure projects)
