Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical Engineering
∎ Degree or equivalent in Construction Management or Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
∎ Good technical knowledge
∎ An excellent knowledge of MS Office and IT
∎ Sound knowledge of contracts related to energy generation projects
∎ Good understanding of Utility interfaces and stakeholders
∎ Excellent knowledge of structuring process flows
∎ PMP accreditation
∎ SACPCMP Registered as Pr.CPM
∎ Accredited training for FIDIC and NEC Contracts
∎ Pr.Eng, CEng or similar registrations
∎ Preferred Professional Certification: PMP
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Operating System
∎ a. Follow the guidelines and prescribed structures as outlined by the operating system
∎ b. Provide continuous input towards improvement and optimisation of the operating system
∎ 2. Manage the structuring phase of projects
∎ a. Provide administrative guidance for Project Execution during structuring phase
∎ b. Manage the project structuring phase as and when required by the Project Manager
∎ c. Assist the Project Manager with Contract management process
∎ d. Assist and manage the project team completing detailed bid evaluations
∎ e. Establish the Project Management Plan for approval by the project manager
∎ f. Assist in resolving issues related to the project during Structuring Phase
∎ g. Efficient management of resources ensuring deliverables are achieved on time
∎ h. Support negotiations with Suppliers and Contractors
∎ i. Ensure the timely delivery of project documents
∎ j. Assist the Project Manager to optimise the project budget
∎ 3. Manage, monitor and report delivery/execution of High Voltage (HV) and Transmission Line (TX) scope
∎ a. Responsible for the flow of information from the project team
∎ b. Management of Governmental/Public/Grid Operator Stakeholders with matters related to licenses, approvals, concessions needed during the execution of the HV and TX scope until COD.
∎ c. Establish and implement a project change management procedure
∎ d. Manage the effective integration and management of the Control, Supply Chain, HSEQ, Site Manager and Project Technical functions
∎ e. Assist and train document controllers on site regarding the operating system and project documents
∎ f. Assist the Project Manager to manage all project costs during execution
∎ g. Assist the Project Manager to ensure successful completion of the execution phase, and delivery to the Operation & Maintenance division within the planned timelines
∎ h. Assist the Project Manager to identify contract breaches and manage project risks
∎ i. Assist the Project Manager to manage administration and close out of contracts
∎ j. Assist the Project Manager to deal with all project contractual matters
∎ k. Support the project Manager to ensure that the project teams and contractors employ due diligence with the terms, conditions, rights and obligations of the contract
∎ l. Prepare contract change notices, monitor contract performance, including the reporting and status of contractor and EPC deliverables
∎ m. Ensure that SSO remains compliant to its contractual obligations set in the Project Documents
∎ n. Monitor the HV and TX EPC and Sub-EPC contractor’s compliance to the schedule, project documents and budget, and raise any non-compliances to the Project Manager, demand corrective plans for deviations.
∎ o. Monitor, verify and review Contractor compliance to quality Assurance procedures, H&S, schedule, EMP and the ESMS
∎ p. Assist the Project Manager to manage the requirements of the SSO in terms of its responsibilities on the projects and as instructed by the Project Manager.
∎ q. Manage the corrective actions of issues with the relevant responsible parties
∎ r. Inspect Contractor documentation and data capturing on a continuous basis
∎ s. Ensure risks management are being done continuously
∎ t. Responsible to ensure project compliance to the Project Management Plan
∎ u. Assist the Project and Construction Manager in ensuring on-site works are being executed within quality standards, on time and within budget
Additional Requirements:
∎ • Commercial awareness and experience handling contracts
∎ • Minimum 5 years record experience as Project Manager with EPC projects in Bangladesh with Sub Stations and Transmission Lines
∎ • To be in Dhaka, travelling to site (located in Dimla, Nilphamari province in the northern Bangladesh) in a weekly basis during execution phase (3 days minimum) depending on the needs of the project
∎ • Fluent in Bangla and English
∎ 5+ years management experience of managing construction projects including management of all construction aspects, electrical, mechanical and civil engineering works
∎ Exposure to High Voltage Networks and Sub-Stations
∎ • Experience in managing renewable energy and construction projects
∎ Will be an advantage to have
∎ • Short Mobilization time
∎ • Previous experience working on international companies, multicultural awareness
∎ • Formal education on Project Management area
∎ • Familiar with FIDIC contracts
∎ • Living in Dhaka
Salary: Tk. 175000 - 300000 (Monthly)
