Job Context:
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices in Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet. CB is implementing 87 on-going projects covering 209 upazila focusing on six main priorities i.e i) Social Welfare and Community Development, ii) Quality Education, iii) Health Care and Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Development and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.

∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is looking for suitable candidates (men and women) for immediate appointment as well as to prepare panel list for USAID/OFDA supported SOKKHOMOTA (Collaborate, Prepare and Resilient to Natural and Human Induced disasters) project in Ukhiya upazila of Cox`s Bazar District under Caritas Chattogram Region. This is a 24 months Project which aim is to help the communities within Cox`s Bazar district become less vulnerable to the loss and damage of natural and human induced hazards/shocks.
∎ The details of the positions including job responsibilities, educational qualification and other qualities/competency required for the above positions are given below for your information:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Project Manager will lead the CB project team for the SOKKHOMOTA project. The position will have overall Coordination, operational and management responsibility in implementing project activities at sub-district level.
∎ Lead CB project team to successfully implement the SOKKHOMOTA/OFD project.
∎ Prepare detailed implementation plan on project activities based on approved project document.
∎ Work directly under Regional Director of Caritas Chattogram Region in coordination with Program Manager and partners to support the organization/project by providing guidance for high quality implementation taking into consideration the technicalities such as Comprehensive community risk mapping and related preparedness measures, agro forestry, etc.
∎ Strengthen the linkages between government and local non-governmental organizations (NGOs), CHT Regional Council levels and community structures (Union to District) charged with taking forward.
∎ Organize and supervise the implementation of project activities in coordination with partners.
∎ Liaison and coordinate with different stakeholders (including GOs & NGOs) to seek their support and to keep them updated on project progress/activities.
∎ Conduct field visit to assess quality of implementation and provide necessary suggestions for improvement.
∎ Keep close communication with other projects of Caritas in CHT aims to obtain necessary support for project implementation.
∎ Support Program Manager to prepare quality report of the project activities
∎ Assist and cooperate for monitoring, research, advocacy etc. activities.
∎ Maintain coordination and communication in terms of project operation. Support the CB project team and key personnel to monitor project progress, quality and share learning
∎ Ensure that the project follows relevant compliance, statutory rules and regulations, standards and CB Policies.
∎ Define tasks and devise an effective action plan with sustainable initiatives involving communities and stakeholders to ensure that the project's objectives and all results are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding guidelines.
∎ Plan, direct, coordinate and lead activities of CB in line with project goals and objectives.
∎ Assist Implementing partners to implement partner-wise implementation plans to ensure smooth delivery.
∎ Support the Finance & Administration officer with fund requirements, financial reporting, and compliance.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ At least 5 years' work experience in reputed development organizations. Minimum 5 years' experience of development project coordination, management and implementation in leading/district level position particularly in CHT. At least 3 years DRR and 2 years livelihood project related experience desirable.
∎ Good command both in English & Bangla.
∎ Knowledge on USAID policies and project rules and regulations.
∎ Knowledge on program aspect, Finance & Administration, Monitoring & Evaluation
∎ Experience on project coordination, management and implementation
∎ Computer skill both English & Bangla on MS-Office
∎ Knowledge and experience of working with Local Government Institutions
∎ Experiences in working with partnership approach
∎ Good report-writing and presentation skills
∎ Good knowledge on diversity and sensitivity of CHT
∎ Working knowledge on any of the major CHT tribal languages would be an added advantage

Salary:
∎ Monthly Consolidated Salary: Taka 100,000/-
