Job Context:
∎ Truvalu is currently looking for a "Program Research Associate" to be part of its Programs and Partnerships Team who will be responsible for supporting the team to successfully conduct various program-related research activities.
∎ EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Contractual (3 months with a possibility of extension)
∎ LOCATION: Based in Dhaka, however, frequent travel outside of Dhaka is required.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Conduct primary research: Plan and execute field visits to collect data on market dynamics, customer behavior, and competitor analysis.
∎ Research documentation: Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and summaries of research findings. Present research outcomes to internal teams and clients, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
∎ Data collection and analysis: Organize and analyze collected data, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Utilize statistical tools and software to derive meaningful insights and trends.
∎ Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback, validate findings, and ensure research alignment with client expectations.
∎ Maintain quality standards: Ensure data and findings are reliable and accurate by following established quality standards.
∎ Travel for field data collection: Visit different working areas to collect data.
∎ Facilitate qualitative interviews: Design questionnaires, conduct interviews, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) to gather relevant information from target customers, industry experts, and stakeholders.
∎ Transcription, translation, and review of interview information: Convert qualitative data, such as audio recordings, into written documents, ensuring accuracy and quality. Accurately review information obtained from interviews and FGDs.
∎ Organize SMEs for interviews and FGDs: Coordinate with project teams to arrange interviews and focus group discussions with SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises).
∎ Select interview location and obtain permission: Choose appropriate venues for interviews and ensure consent from all participants.
∎ Collect data using structured interviews: Use pre-developed questionnaires to gather data from sampled respondents and service providers.
∎ Ensure completeness of forms: Check collected data for accuracy and consistency to ensure all necessary information is captured.
∎ Follow data quality and sampling protocols: According to specific guidelines and tools for data collection to ensure proper sampling and data quality.
∎ Review and edit collected data: Check for errors, both intentional and unintentional and make necessary corrections.
∎ Maintain effective teamwork and communication: Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors during fieldwork.
∎ Update progress and seek advice: Keep key personnel informed about progress and issues in the field and seek guidance when needed.
∎ Participate in data quality check exercises: Engage in quality control exercises to identify missing or erroneous data.
∎ Daily reporting on data gathering progress: Provide regular updates on the progress of data collection activities.
∎ Submit assignments and provide observations: Follow instructions from supervisors, submit assigned tasks, and share any relevant observations from the interviews.
∎ Report difficulties to supervisor: Communicate challenges encountered during the fieldwork to the supervisor and discuss them during debriefing sessions.
∎ Represent the organization professionally: Present Truvalu Bangladesh in a professional and accurate manner while interacting with target stakeholders and beneficiaries.
∎ Experience in data analysis: Have knowledge and skills in analyzing data using various statistical methods.
∎ Write reports: Summarize data and present the implications of the results in written reports.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 3 [three] years of progressive and relevant work experience in conducting field research work using participatory approaches in different locations in the country is essential, especially in remote areas.
∎ Prior experience in interviewing and facilitating KII, FGDs, and in-depth interviews or beneficiary selection.
∎ He/she must be a Bangladeshi national and willing to travel to different areas of the country.
∎ Excellent time management skills, resourcefulness, with strong attention to detail.
∎ Excellent knowledge of Bengali, and English (Essential).
∎ Displays exemplary positive behaviors for consistency, predictability, and reliability at work to complete assignments and meet deadlines.
∎ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and tasks efficiently in a high-stress environment;
∎ Excellent computer literacy in MS Office programs (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook);
∎ Experience and knowledge of data collection through mobile apps (Kobo Collect, ODK, ONA, DDG, etc.). Also, experience in working with SMEs will be a plus.

Salary:
∎ Negotiable (competitive salary package based on competency and experience).
