Job Responsibilities:
∎ Coordinating and assisting in gathering, selecting, and analyzing information combined in communication publications received from different sources, including the press. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of events relating to political issues in general.
∎ Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in the area of assignment and provide input on issues to senior officials and colleagues in the mission.
∎ Assist in monitoring national, provincial, and district-level political developments and provide advice to the Political Affairs Officer.
∎ Maintain contacts with political and civil society leaders in areas of responsibility. Provide technical and substantive backup in the implementation of mandates of the office, branch, or unit.
∎ Maintain contacts with other sectors of the international and national organizations and government departments on coordination and policy matters.
∎ Assist in monitoring actions taken by government, and non-governmental organizations. As a member of the team participates in regular fact-finding and other objectives within the assigned area of responsibilities.
∎ Assist in monitoring the situation of political developments in accordance with the priorities established by the Political Affairs Officer.
∎ Assist in drafting reports on political developments, including summaries for the weekly report; draft analyses of the major political issues in areas of responsibility. Interpret from English into Bangla during meetings. Translate documents from English into Bangla whenever necessary.
∎ Manage the archive of political developments in the area of responsibility.
∎ Perform any other duties as required.
