Job Context:
∎ This position is to strengthen Nobo Jatra Project’s impact of our local to national level influence and policy level works at the country level by providing strategic and ground level leadership on policy, advocacy and campaigning aspects. Developing require strategies, improving skill and knowledge, enhancing the technical expertise and ensure support to the concern programme teams, stakeholders, alliances and networking and use moment to get the leverage.
∎ In doing so, the incumbent for this position is expected to identify critical opportunities/gaps in which Nobo Jatra will be able to improve government coordination and effectiveness through the strengthening of accountability mechanisms and facilitate policy level interface in a formal and structured manner, with critical branches of central Government.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ In alignment with the Strategic Partnership Model and Nobo Jatra government relationship strategy, provides leadership for policy, advocacy, campaign, working collaboratively to ensure that this work is embedded in both programming and influencing delivered in partnership
∎ In coordination with Senior Manager-PA&EE, leads in producing policy briefing papers, policy position statements and public communication materials.
∎ Coordinate capacity development initiatives on advocacy for NJP staff.
∎ Build external networks with local and national actors to further NJP’s campaign strategy and objectives.
∎ Wide range of communication and representation at different forums, networks, CSO, media houses, etc.
∎ Influence programme and campaigning direction by ensuring delivery of accurate and relevant evidence output.
∎ Oversight of the internal and external media and communication plans and projects for Nobo Jatra.
∎ Contributes to collective management at the top level with collaborative and matrix ways of working, specifically with field offices.
∎ Support and share key learning through different methods and help to create an environment for innovation.
∎ Identify and determine particular policy implementation issues to focus on: policy gaps or ‘policy windows’ and Nobo Jatra implementation gaps.
∎ Lead to organize national and local level events for sharing policy analysis outcomes of different components of Nobo Jatra Project
∎ Develop a mechanism/process to prioritize and shortlist policies and link them to implementation gaps.
∎ Undertake a detailed stakeholder analysis/mapping of decision-makers and influencing actors including ministry, agency, legislature, sector, or municipality) and develop detailed influencing plans for each policy area to address.
∎ Determine coalition partners for influencing actions and develop a structured and strategic plan for each coalition.
∎ Develop high-quality succinct briefing documents for government officials, legislators and other decision-makers on the conclusions of policy recommendations.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Broad understanding of Government of Bangladesh policy landscape and influencing mechanisms
∎ Sound knowledge and experience of nutrition/health/food security programming and its challenges
∎ Excellent research skills for an INGO
∎ Quick learner with the ability to think strategically and creatively
∎ Excellent ability to meet deadlines
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bangla
∎ Proficient computer literacy using Microsoft Office Microsoft
∎ Word, Excel & MS PowerPoint
∎ Minimum 4- 5 years of experience at the professional level working either with Think Tanks or NGOs or civil society organizations on a similar portfolio
∎ Demonstrated excellent understanding of Government of Bangladesh policies and facility to engage effectively between different government and non-government stakeholders.
∎ Proven ability to exercise sound independent judgment and discretion in advising on and handling major issues and problems.
∎ Experience with USAID-funded project work

Salary: Tk. 80000 - 90000 (Monthly)
