Job Context:
∎ CSF Global is an international NGO engaged in advancing research and services for persons with disabilities. CSF Global Cerebral Palsy (CP) Program is a collaborative program between the CSF Global (www.csf-global.org), the Asian Institute of Disability and Development (www.disabilityasia.org), Bangladesh, the Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA), the University of Sydney and Central Queensland University, Australia. This program supports world-class research and service delivery projects in Bangladesh. The overall aim of this program is to conduct translational research to generate novel knowledge on CP and to develop a comprehensive service delivery model for children with CP in rural Bangladesh.
∎ Reporting operationally to the Program Manager, and professionally to the Research Physiotherapist, the Physiotherapy Assistant will be responsible for delivering quality physiotherapy services to children with CP and adults with disability and disorders at the upazila/union level.
∎ Job Location: The post-holder will be based at any of the four SMART CP Centres located in Sirajganj district.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Physiotherapy Assistant is a key member of the team and will have the following key responsibilities:
∎ Work closely with children with CP and adults with disabilities at SMART CP Early Intervention and Rehabilitation Centres (currently four centres are operational in the Sirajganj district) to provide quality therapy services following the rehabilitation plans developed by Research/Senior Physiotherapist.
∎ Assess and record the patient's initial condition and progress for the patient's evaluation and reporting and develop and review rehabilitation plans.
∎ Assessment of individual children with CP and adults with disabilities for assistive devices.
∎ Assist in screening and needs assessment during multidisciplinary medical assessment camps.
∎ Supervise and train community therapists.
∎ Identify and assess children with disability including CP.
∎ Educate parents or caregivers of children with CP and adults with disabilities on how to take better care of their patients and provide therapy at home.
∎ Liaise with local health service providers and relevant stakeholders for centre promotion.
∎ Referral mapping and referral services to children with CP and adults with disabilities.
∎ Be responsible for overseeing the functions and advancement of the centres including patient number, service quality and financial management.
∎ Daily and monthly reporting on the quantitative and qualitative aspects of service provision of centres.
∎ Contribute to ongoing research projects (e.g. camp management, data collection).
∎ Contribute to wider organisational goals within local, regional and international stakeholders.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 3 years of experience in working with children with CP and adults with musculoskeletal and neurological disorders is essential.
∎ Good communication and documentation skills.
∎ Good command of MS Word and Excel.
∎ Ability to carry out frequent field/home visits.
Salary:
∎ Tk. 20000 (Monthly)
∎ gross per month.
