Skills Required: Additional Requirements: Responsibilities & Context: • Provide leadership and direction to the operation theater staff, including nurses, technicians and support personnel.
• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the operation theater, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols related to operating room operations and patient care.
• Oversee the preparation of operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring cleanliness, proper equipment setup and availability of necessary supplies.
• Coordinate with surgical teams to schedule procedures, allocate resources and optimize operating room utilization.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative period, from preoperative preparation to postoperative care and recovery.
• Maintain and inspect surgical equipment, instruments and technology to ensure functionality, sterility and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Manage the inventory of surgical supplies, implants, medications and reorder as needed to support surgical activities.
• Coordinate with biomedical engineering and facility maintenance teams to address equipment repairs, upgrades and facility-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards and best practices in perioperative care.
• Conduct regular audits, checks and inspections of the operation theater environment to maintain cleanliness, infection control and safety standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, surgical efficiency and staff performance.
• Help in Recruitment, training, and evaluating operation theater staff, including nurses, technicians and support personnel.
• Provide ongoing education and training on surgical techniques, safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism and continuous learning within the operation theater team.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to plan and execute surgical procedures effectively.
• Communicate with patients and their families regarding surgical scheduling, preoperative instructions, and postoperative care guidelines.
• Serve as a liaison between the operation theater department and other hospital departments, administration, and external stakeholders.
