Job Responsibilities:
∎ Monitor exact, detailed reports and records of critical ICU patient.
∎ Monitor and record symptoms and changes in patients' conditions and inform to physician.
∎ Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostics tests to identify and assess patient's condition.
∎ Carefully observe and document patient medical information's and vital signs.
∎ Document patients' medical histories and assessment findings.
∎ Document patients' treatment plans, interventions, outcomes, or plan revisions.
∎ Consult and coordinate with health care team members about whole patient care plans.
∎ Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient's response and conditions.
∎ Monitor the critical patients for changes in status and indications of conditions such as sepsis or shock and institute appropriate interventions.
∎ Administering intravenous fluids and medications as per doctor order.
∎ Monitor patients' fluid intake and output to detect emerging problems such as fluid and electrolyte imbalances.
∎ Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
∎ Identify patients who are at risk of complications due to nutritional status.
∎ Direct and supervise less skilled nursing/health care personnel, or supervise a particular unit on one shift to patient's response and conditions.
∎ Treating wounds and providing advanced life support.
∎ Assist physicians with procedures such as bronchoscopy, endoscopy, endotracheal intubation, and elective cardio version.
∎ Ensuring that ventilator, monitors and other types of medical equipment function properly.
∎ Ensure that equipment or devices are properly stored after use.
∎ Identify malfunctioning equipment or devices.
∎ Collaborating with fellow members of the critical care team.
∎ Responding to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatment.
∎ Critical care nurses may also care for pre- and post-operative patients when those patients require ICU care.
∎ In addition, some act as manager and policy makers, while others perform administrative duties.
∎ Assess patients' pain levels and sedation requirements.
∎ Prioritize nursing care for assigned critically ill patients based on assessment data and identified needs.
∎ Assess family adaptation levels and coping skills to determine whether intervention is needed.
∎ Acting as patient advocate.
∎ Providing education and support to patient families.
∎ ICU nurse must be able to draw ABG Blood and interpret report correctly.
∎ ICU nurse should have enough knowledge about GCS (Glasgow Coma Scale) and also evaluation capacity of patient condition.
∎ Evaluate and oversee patients in the NICU and report to supervisors any changes in condition
∎ Maintain and calibrate NICU equipment for patient safety and support
∎ Administer medications as prescribed by attending NICU physician
∎ Connect intravenous lines to administer medication and extract samples
∎ Communicate with parents/guardians the plan of care and scope of treatment
∎ Obtain and evaluate test results
∎ Consult with physicians and other nurses on plan of care, progress and prognosis
∎ Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
∎ Current and valid RN license from the state required
∎ 2+ years' experience working in a high-volume NICU
∎ Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certificate a plus
∎ NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certificate preferred
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
∎ Working knowledge of all NICU equipment (e.g. incubator, ventilator, etc.)
∎ Provide NICU nurse services to hospitals, clinics & community-based settings.
∎ Provide nursing care to infants in neonatal intensive care unit setting.
∎ Provide focused care to babies born prematurely in NICU care setting.
∎ Provide intensive nursing care to seriously ill patients.
∎ Interact with parents in providing nursing care to babies.
∎ Maintain the premises of NICU neat, clean and sterile.
∎ Ensure comfort to mothers and newborns during nursing care.
∎ Resolve complex issues in NICU nursing care issues.
∎ Assist obstetricians or other doctors providing treatment to newborn babies.
∎ Ensure compliance of state nursing laws in NICU nurse activities.
∎ Offering support to parents and family members and educating them on the at-home care of their newborn.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 22 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Must have experience in ICU NICU and HDU unit.
∎ A Registered Nursing Licence.
∎ A Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing.
∎ 1 year's experience in ICU or NICU.
∎ A CPR certification.
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
∎ The ability to offer emotional support to parents, guardians, and family members.
∎ Working knowledge of NICU specialized equipment.
∎ The ability to work in a team.
∎ The ability to offer comfort to ill newborns.
