Educational Requirements:
∎ Diploma in Midwifery in Nursing and Midwifery
∎ Diploma in Midwifery and Nursing with specially Trained/Experienced in Midwifery
Experience Requirements:
∎ 1 to 2 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Give the necessary supervision, care, and advice to women during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period.
∎ Provide full antenatal care, peri-natal care, post-natal care including screening tests in the clinic and the home.
∎ Provide counseling and advice before and after screening and tests.
∎ Conduct normal delivery with aseptic precaution in the birthing center and care for the newborn infant.
∎ Identify high-risk pregnancies and make referrals to doctors and other specialized medical hospitals.
∎ Provide support and advice following events such as miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, neonatal abnormality, and neonatal death.
∎ Provide primary care to women of productive age, by the Basic Package of Health Services.
∎ Supervise the provision of primary health care within the rural community.
∎ Counsel and educate rural women, the family, and the community, in relevant areas of maternal child health care.
