Responsibilities & Context:
∎ The Medical Technologist/ In-charge specializing in MRI/ CT Scan / X-Ray is responsible for performing Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT) & X-Ray imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves operating MRI, CT scanning equipment & X-Ray, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. The Medical Technologist / In-charge will also maintain imaging equipment and adhere to safety standards to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
∎ Perform MRI / CT/ X-Ray imaging procedures as per physician orders, ensuring accurate and high-quality images.
∎ Operate MRI/ CT/ X-Ray scanning equipment safely and effectively.
∎ Adjust equipment settings and position patients to obtain optimal imaging results.
∎ Prepare patients for MRI/ CT/ X-Ray procedures, explaining the process and addressing any questions or concerns.
∎ Position patients correctly and immobilize as necessary to ensure clear images.
∎ Monitor patients during procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
∎ Review and analyze MRI/ CT / X-Ray images to ensure they meet diagnostic requirements.
∎ Collaborate with radiologists to discuss preliminary findings and assist in image interpretation.
∎ Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and imaging documentation.
∎ Perform regular maintenance and calibration of MRI / CT scanning / X-Ray equipment to ensure proper functionality.
∎ Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel for timely repair.
∎ Adhere to radiation safety protocols and infection control procedures to protect patients and staff.
∎ Follow established protocols and guidelines for MRI / CT /X-Ray imaging procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy.
∎ Stay updated with advancements in MRI/ CT/X-Ray technology and integrate new techniques as appropriate.
∎ Comply with all relevant healthcare regulations and hospital policies.
∎ Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
∎ Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.
∎ Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
