Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Monitor and manage admitted patients in the general ward under the supervision of senior consultants.
∎ Conduct regular ward rounds, assess patient progress, and update treatment plans as necessary.
∎ Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including clinical notes and investigation reports.
∎ Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide necessary first-line treatment.
∎ Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure proper implementation of prescribed treatments and care plans.
∎ Communicate with patients and their attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress updates.
∎ Ensure timely requisition and follow-up of diagnostic tests and interpret results for clinical decisions.
∎ Adhere strictly to hospital policies, medical ethics, and patient safety protocols.
∎ Assist in discharge planning, prepare discharge summaries, and provide follow-up instructions.
