∎ BACKGROUND OF GONOSHASTHAYA KENDRA AND THE PROJECT:
∎ Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) is a National NGO. GK registered as a Public Charitable Trust in 1972 and started with two visions (a) "the fate of the poor decides fate of the country, and (b) "development of the country depends on development of women."
∎ GK has been active in responding to all significant natural disasters in Bangladesh since 1972 through the mobilization of its own and foreign resources. GK provided food aid, lifesaving medicine and treatments in its operational Upazila during flood of 1987, 1988, 2000, Tornado: 1989, Cyclone and tidal surge: 1985 1991, 1994, Cyclone SIDR 2007, Cyclone AILA 2009 in its operational areas.
∎ GK has experienced partnership with several UN agencies, INGOs, such as UNDP, UNHCR, WFP, WHO, World Bank, European Union, UNHCR, Christian Aid, Action Aid, We Social Movement, French Support Committee, Save the Children, Plan Bangladesh, Medico International and many others.
∎ GK is managing 43 health centers in 19 districts, two hospitals of 250 beds, the largest dialysis center in Bangladesh where 100 people could be treated simultaneously. GK is running one University, Medical College, Dental College, Medical Technical School, Pharmaceutical Industry and a Vocational training school providing short, long and customized courses for distressed women. GK has awarded numerous national and international awards for its work on health and disaster response.
∎ Gonoshasthaya Kendra Bangladesh and its partner Malteser International are two humanitarian organizations in Bangladesh that have been working on emergency programs since September 2017, post-emergency and development. GK is currently implementing a project funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and Malteser International (MI) of "Improving the health and nutritional situation of refugees in Cox`s Bazaar and contributing to the peaceful coexistence of refugee and host communities". The goal of this project is to improve the health, nutrition, and psychosocial status of refugees while assisting host communities through health education in community level.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Work in charge of the Host Community program and actively collaborate with team members to ensure good collaboration, communication, and implementation of GK's humanitarian project in Kutubdia.
∎ Provide quality curative health consultations following the right procedure (history taking, medical examination, lab investigations, proper diagnosis, and medical prescription) Collect and report beneficiary-related data on a daily basis.
∎ Refer patients to Upazilas Health Complex (UHC) when treatment cannot be provided at the Community Clinic. According to the appropriate referral pathway
∎ Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
∎ Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; and complying with legal regulations.
∎ Ensure all the necessary materials and equipment before starting the consultation
∎ Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; and calling for repairs.
∎ Respect the Gonoshasthaya Kendra's Internal Regulations, Terms and Conditions of Engagement, and procedures of all departments and agree to contribute to successful collaboration
∎ Represents GK vis-à-vis local communities, authorities, community clinics, and other humanitarian organizations in a professional manner, upholding GK's good standing
∎ Perform daily data collection regarding epidemiological data and consultations/services provided according to the templates provided
∎ Carefully investigate any unusual health events or suspected serious communicable diseases provided through any source and report according to the established protocol
∎ Manage emergency medical cases according to GK protocols and referral guidelines
∎ Do all medical and nutrition referrals according to referral protocols.
∎ Check the immunization status for all EPI-targeted children and pregnant women and refer the unvaccinated children and pregnant women to a facility providing vaccinations
∎ Perform daily updates to the reporting board in the Community Clinic.
∎ Participation in emergency patient management
∎ Actively participate in maintaining IPC
∎ Ensure proper fulfillment of administrative procedures and documents.
∎ Team management activities (Conduct Training, workshop, performance, evaluation)
∎ Rotation-wise duty among 5 Community Clinic
∎ Technical Supervision of 5 midwives including capacity-building training.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum 3 (Three) Years of working Experience in I/NGOs with Humanitarian and Development Sectors.
∎ Mentally adaptability to stay at Kutubdia Island (an isolated island) in Cox's Bazar District
∎ Good command of English, especially in analytical writing and speaking;
∎ Ability to demonstrate values, core purpose, and principles of humanitarian work;
∎ Ability to receive and provide feedback and updates to achieve improved results;
∎ Ability to work under pressure with Self-awareness, cultural sensitivity, respect for diversity, flexibility, and adaptability.
∎ Ability to make time to learn from experience and feedback, and apply the lessons to a new situation.
∎ Ability to document lessons learned and apply them to future projects;
∎ Experience in writing reports, concept notes, proposals, meeting minutes, data spreadsheet, presentations.
∎ Personal skills:
∎ Good communication skills
∎ Ability to cope with stress working in a remote island.
∎ Good command of Chitagonian and Bangla. English language skills are an asset.
∎ Flexibility to perform other tasks and take initiative when required.

Salary: Tk. 110000 - 120000 (Monthly)
