Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Develop and execute a global import strategy aligned with the business objectives and plans.
∎ Stay updated on regulatory changes, trade policies, and geopolitical factors.
∎ Optimize import processes for efficiency, reduced lead times, and cost savings.
∎ Use advanced technologies and data analytics to improve logistics operations.
∎ Ensure compliance with international trade and customs regulations.
∎ Implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize supply chain disruptions.
∎ Oversee timely consignment deliveries in compliance with shipping regulations.
∎ Build strategic relationships with global suppliers and logistics partners.
∎ Promote collaboration for better visibility and performance across the supply chain.
∎ Lead cost optimization negotiations with service providers.
∎ Identify and apply cost saving initiatives without sacrificing quality.
∎ Explore new technologies to improve decision-making and operations.
∎ Encourage innovation, collaboration, and learning in the team.
∎ Mentor and develop team members for a high performing import function.
∎ AkijBashir Group seeks to appoint a Manager / Senior Manager who will take a leading role to manage, oversee, and take full responsibility for the entire import/export process, including related customs operations, from start to finish. The Incumbent will lead a team, coordinate, & support the total supply chain function of the group i.e., involving the identification, acquisition, storing and distribution of the business’s raw materials and goods.
