∎ B. Pharm/M. Pharm/B. Sc in Chemistry. Candidates having Masters/Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management will get preference.

∎ At least 10 years’ experience, among which 3 years in managerial position in Import at any reputed Pharmaceuticals Company;
∎ Sound knowledge in L/C, Tax/VAT, Clearing & Forwarding (C&F), Customs and Excise duty;
∎ Good knowledge of Pharmaceuticals RM, PM & machineries and multiple local vendors;
∎ Good knowledge in HS Codes of Pharmaceutical machineries from Custom Tariff schedule;
∎ Capable in planning, organizing, prioritizing and coordinating work in a fast-changing environment;
∎ Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills;
∎ Strong analytical and communication ability;
∎ Exceptionally well organized with an aptitude for data;
∎ Good knowledge in Computer specially in ERP, MS Office, Internet etc.;
∎ Good command in Bengali and English;
∎ Able to work independently and under pressure;
∎ Should be self-driven, result oriented, hard working;
∎ High level of professional integrity.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ i. Responsible for managing the import process from start to finish, from working with suppliers to negotiating contracts and ensuring timely deliveries.
∎ ii. Managing the documentation and paperwork related to importing materials;
∎ iii. Follow- up and supervision of necessary jobs in Banks related to L/C opening, release of shipping documents and payment of import bills;
∎ iv. Preparing periodic (Monthly/Half-yearly/Yearly) material planning in line with sales forecast;
∎ v. Ensuring flow of RM & PM inventory to ensure optimum stock levels and meeting turnover ratio;
∎ vi. Sourcing out capable/reputed supplier(s) towards ensuring effective procurement of quality materials with competitive price by way of effective negotiation;
∎ vii. Identify appropriate HS codes for customs tariff schedule compliance;
∎ viii. Deriving out total cost (landed cost) of each foreign procurement on the basis of involvement of duty, taxes etc. so that a comparison could be made if procured from local source;
∎ ix. Finalize negotiation, prepare comparative statement for all items and arrange approval from management to procure on time;
∎ x. Mapping vendors into High, Medium and Low risk category to prioritize for sourcing;
∎ xi. Identifying potential costs savings initiatives and coordinate with other departments to ensure the shipment is done in a timely and cost-efficient manner;
∎ xii. Maintain an extensive database for all orders that is up to date and provides information for analysis and reporting.
∎ xiii. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to import.
