∎ The Health Field Officer will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Health Delegate in the ICRC`s Office in Cox`s Bazar.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Implement and monitor health programmes supported by the ICRC in cooperation with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS)
∎ Closely work with BDRCS to assess situations that could require ICRC health support and timely report to the line manager.
∎ Participate in monitoring to evaluate the BDRCS´s accountability and financial statement
∎ Assist in building capacity of BDRCS- Mobile Medical Team (MMT) to assure its qualitative curative care
∎ Ensure the interventions to achieve on 4 key areas: Triage, Usage of Family Health Card, Referral and Data management and others in need
∎ Ensure the improvement of cares for Non-Communicable diseases, Nutritional screening and Psychological First Aid by MMT and Disease outbreak and Prevention
∎ Facilitate with BDRCS to carry out regular coordination meetings and learning sessions twice per months
∎ Ensure fulfilment of objectives defined in the action plans through definition of indicators to evaluate and assess the impact of the programmes
∎ Prepare reports and statistics in a detailed and timely manner; weekly, monthly and quarterly
∎ Monitor the stock of medical items and preparing orders accordingly in agreement with the line manager
∎ Develop and maintain a network of relevant interlocutors
∎ Assure relevant translation for delegates or other colleagues during field trips and meetings and ensuring relevant translation of documents and texts, as necessary
∎ Analyse the effectiveness of the systems implemented and provide advice to improve/adapt to the local context
∎ Participate in the design or adjustment of training programs as required
∎ Carry out logistical tasks regarding training / workshops and so on
∎ Participate and contribute to the activities at Health complex projects
∎ Participate in identifying gaps of knowledge and contributing to solutions via capacity building or policy and procedure development for Health Complex support programmes
∎ Additional responsibilities as required
Additional Requirements:
∎ Knowledge on Public Health, Primary Health Care, Emergency Preparedness and Response will get preference
∎ Good command of English (written and spoken) & fluency in local language (Bangla, Chittagonian)
∎ 3 to 5 years of work experience (including 2 years clinical experience) in humanitarian sector
∎ Experience in coaching medical staff and/or health volunteers
∎ Good connections with local health authorities or groups of interest for the ICRC
∎ Excellent knowledge of the assigned geographic area
∎ Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and team working skills; sense of responsibility; strong organizational skills; perseverance; rigor.
∎ Ability to remain flexible, and to maintain good spirits in challenging and stressful situations.
∎ Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment.
∎ Empathy and compassion with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles.
∎ Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
