∎ The Asian University for Women is seeking applications for the Head of Security & Protocol position. The Head of Security & Protocol is responsible for the management and administration of the Security & Protocol department. S/he must be a highly organized, disciplined, and result oriented self-starter, with strong operations and management skills. S/he must be self-motivated and work effectively as a team player who gets actively involved in day-to-day operations.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Core Responsibilities:
∎ Manage all types of Security and Protocol activities, duties and tasks including assessment of the risks, monitoring all security and safety related matters, provision of training as required, investigation of incidents, hazards and accidents and forwarding suggestions and recommendations to Line Manager & Senior Management
∎ Manage security arrangements for official visits to and other events at the University.
∎ Advise the Deputy Registrar on security and protocol matters, including confidential or sensitive business.
∎ Act as a conduit between the University and the Police and other Government Agencies at all levels in order to expedite solutions to difficult situations.
∎ Act as Head of Security & Protocol and assist the Deputy Registrar for Security and Estate Management
∎ Details of responsibilities:
∎ Manage the department and staff as required, as Head of Security & Protocol
∎ Ensure the safety of staff, students and visitors and the university's sites and buildings
∎ Manage all types of security activities and fire and other safety arrangements across the University including investigation of all incidents, hazards and accidents, emergency drills etc.
∎ Taking a leading role in the operation and review of arrangements for emergency evacuation
∎ Monitor all arming/disarming of alarms, security equipment, CCTV/cameras, and to ensure that units are functioning properly.
∎ Arrange training opportunities for security personnel, as well as for the entire community to ensure emergency preparedness and general campus safety.
∎ Liaise between AUW and other government agencies such as the police, the fire service etc.
∎ Liaise between AUW and security service provider (guard contractor)
∎ Liaise with the passport and visa office and other Government Offices to ensure the completion of visa/immigration formalities and to assist AUW team to obtain security clearance for foreign students, staff, faculties and guests.
∎ Work with student support departments on arrangements for the arrival and reception of students.
∎ Undertake protocol duties such as receiving VIP guests and other official visitors.
∎ Assist the Deputy Registrar & Senior Management Team of AUW as and when required.
∎ To carry out any other duties from time to time that may reasonably be required by the line manager.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Significant experience of managing security related matters; the candidate will have a military or government service background: Ex/Retired Government or Military (Army/Navy/Air Force) or Police Officers are encouraged to apply
∎ Must be residing in Chittagong
∎ Understanding of the management of health and safety
∎ Strong organizational and inter-personal skills
∎ Fluent in written and verbal communication in English
∎ Capability of working in a multicultural environment with integrity and professionalism
∎ Commitment to good service.
∎ Ability to rise to a more senior level
∎ Preferably have self-driven skills with valid driver's license
