Job Context:
∎ This position shall be based in Surma Plant, Chhatak, Sunamganj and will report to Head of Strategy & Business Development.
∎ The job is open for both Bangladeshi and expatriates.
∎ Key Role: This position is responsible for the overall Lime P&L including managing operations, production, dispatch, logistics, sales, sustainability KPI, HS&E, quality control, quality assurance, technical support to customers, resources (people mobilization/ development) for the existing facilities and the future expansions. The position has to coordinate with support functions such as mining, aggregates, engineering and maintenance. Expanding current capacity either through brownfield, Greenfield expansion, JV or acquisition is a key part of the role.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ PLANT MANAGEMENT:
∎ Monitor production performance including cost / volume / quality of raw materials, energy (fuel) consumption, efficiency of plant and effective utilization of equipment/machines. Ensure alignment with planned production targets, delivery targets, profitability targets and other key performance measures.
∎ Develop plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
∎ Develop and enforce policies and procedures for production methods, quality and safety.
∎ Coordinate and supervise for all required licenses and permits required for operations
∎ Oversee the execution and implementation of risk management frameworks and disaster recovery plans to ensure optimal plant performance and minimize operational losses.
∎ Coordinate with quarry and aggregates operations to provide the right input material. Ensure production targets are aligned to sales forecast.
∎ Implement appropriate plan and program for producing quality products that meet customer requirements
∎ Demonstrate ownership for all technical/maintenance issues in the plants.
∎ Create safe work conditions and mobilize all plant employees and contractors on safety at work.
∎ COST REDUCTON AND OPTIMIZATION:
∎ Benchmark plant / operational performance against other peer companies. Suggest actions for cost optimization and improvement in plant performance KPIs.
∎ Demonstrate ownership for the implementation of a cost reduction program including cost tracking practices/methods in order to maintain competitive edge in the market and ensure increased overall performance.
∎ Authorize expenses in line with the plant objectives and budget provisions.
∎ EXPANSION PROJECTS:
∎ Lead and implement all operational and strategic projects for the company. Involve in engineering, concept layout, planning, ordering, project management and implementation of key strategic projects.
∎ Leading the industrial functions by coordinating with other functions like mining, aggregates, finance, logistics, sales & marketing, human resources, corporate affairs, security and strategy & business development to meet the country strategy and country vision targets.
∎ PRODUCT QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION:
∎ Ensure product quality as per the requirements of the customer.
∎ Innovate to produce different types of lime to enhance company margins and increase market share
∎ Develop a customer-oriented culture in alignment with the company's values ensuring prompt feedback in addressing customer complaints issues.
∎ Establish quality assurance and quality control procedures for lime products manufactured at all company locations
∎ PEOPLE MANAGEMENT AND STAKEHOLDER/ COMMUNITY RELATIONS:
∎ Align with HR function to identify the right mix of people and management to propel the operational sites (plants).
∎ Ensure the execution of succession plan and training plan for all staff in the country in order to preserve and develop key competencies.
∎ Develop and maintain strategic relationships with other key organizations and champion the formulation of strategic business alliances.
∎ Develop sustainable relationships with external influencers (local leaders and government body) and seek to establish relevant partnerships for optimal positioning of the plants.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Should have 15 - 20 years of experience of which at least 5 - 10 years' P&L experience in managing a Mining/lime business (Hydrated and Quick lime) and lime plant operations for a reputed company. Should have in depth knowledge of process, operations and should have led a cross functional team. Should have experience with setting up new lime kilns (Greenfield or brownfield project: vertical shaft and / or rotary kilns)
∎ In addition to hydrated and quick lime, experience with working on different lime products like precipitated calcium carbonate, reactive calcium carbonate will be preferred.
∎ Knowledge of alternate fuels and carbon capture, utilization and Storage (CCUS) will be an added advantage.
∎ TECHNICAL COMPETENCY:
