Job Context:
∎ This position shall be based in Chhatak Plant, Sunamganj, Sylhet and will report to the Chief Executive Officer.
∎ The job is open for both Bangladeshi and expatriates.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Key Role:
∎ This is a leadership role of the company and shall take part of the country strategic matters as part of country EXCOM (Executive Committee) member. The main role of this position is to develop and maintain high plant performance standards for the plants and quarry (three grinding stations and one integrated plant in Bangladesh and one quarry in India) and take overall responsibility for all production related operations including sustainability KPI, logistics & dispatch, HS&E, industrial excellence and technical support, quality assurance, resources (people mobilization/ development) as well as production support functions such as mining, engineering and maintenance.
∎ Main Responsibilities
∎ STRATEGIC PARTNER:
∎ Provide overall strategic leadership, direction and guidance for all Plant related operations including quarry and develops organization strategies.
∎ Leading the industrial functions by coordinating with other functions like aggregates, finance, logistics, sales & marketing, human resources, corporate affairs & security and strategy & business development to meet the business strategy and target.
∎ PLANT MANAGEMENT:
∎ Oversee the conduct of in-depth research, assessment and analysis and benchmark the plant management strategies against other major players in view of industry, group and economic realities in order to ensure maintenance and improvement of production standards.
∎ Oversee the execution and implementation of risk management frameworks and disaster recovery plans to ensure optimal plant performance and minimize operational losses.
∎ Coordinate with quarry operations and oversee the analysis of sales forecast to determine production capacity required to meet forecast.
∎ Monitor production performance including cost & volumes of raw materials, energy & fuels, effective utilization of equipment/machines and ensure alignment with planned production targets, delivery targets, profitability targets and other key performance measures.
∎ Implement appropriate strategies, plans and program for producing quality products and achieving set levels of Plant capacity utilization and efficiency.
∎ Develop and enforce policies and procedures for production methods, quality and safety.
∎ Develop plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
∎ Demonstrate ownership for all technical/maintenance issues in the plants.
∎ Create safe work conditions and mobilize all plant employees and contractors on safety at work.
∎ COST EFFICIENCY AND REDUCTION:
∎ Demonstrate ownership for the implementation of a cost reduction program including cost tracking practices/methods in order to maintain competitive edge in the market and ensure increased overall performance.
∎ Oversee the execution of all necessary systems, controls, policies and procedures to ensure a rigorous financial framework for the Plants.
∎ Authorize expenses in line with the plant objectives and budget provisions.
∎ PRODUCT QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION:
∎ Develop a customer-oriented culture in alignment with the Company's values ensuring prompt feedback in addressing customer complaints issues.
∎ Ensure the maintenance of product quality for all products and provision of quality service.
∎ Demonstrate ownership of quality assurance and control procedures as well as the overall quality of all products manufactured in the Country.
∎ PEOPLE MANAGEMENT AND STAKEHOLDER/ COMMUNITY RELATIONS:
∎ Align with HR function to identify the right mix of people, innovation and management to propel the operational sites (plants).
∎ Ensure the execution of succession plan and training plan for all staff in the Country in order to preserve and develop key competencies.
∎ Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key organizations and champion the formulation of strategic business alliances.
∎ Develop sustainable relationships with external influencers (local leaders and government body) and seek to establish relevant partnerships for optimal positioning of the Plants.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 20 years' experience in an Integrated Cement Plant of a reputed company.
∎ Experienced with Quarry operations will be preferred.
∎ Working experience in various cultures in multiple countries shall add advantage.
∎ Functional & Technical Competency:
∎ Excellent knowledge in Plant Operational Management such as productivity attainment, process optimization, plant reliability, bench marking and effective KPI's, safety and environment, planning and Strategy Management etc.
∎ Vast knowledge on cost management, system development and industrial relations etc.
∎ Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
∎ Orientation with Quarry operations will be preferred.
∎ Wide Knowledge in Clinker and Cement manufacturing process, raw materials, logistics and plant efficiency. Knowledge on Clinker and Cement production & productivity attainment.
∎ Good knowledge of industrial legislations (labor, safety, environment etc.)
∎ Excellent Leadership skill to develop people, talent review and succession planning, lean organizational structure, Manpower optimization by standardization
∎ Ability to deal with ambiguity.
∎ Quick decision making ability.
∎ Excellent problem solving, analytical skills.
∎ Leadership and managerial abilities:
∎ Passion and drive. Decision making at strategic and operational levels.
∎ Good business and operational insight and maturity to be able to generate business as per opportunities.
∎ Self-starter with drive to achieve change even when confronted by obstacles.
∎ Able to influence stakeholders, demonstrating need for change.
∎ Strong leadership, total quality management and analytical ability.
