Job Context:
∎ The Leprosy Mission International Bangladesh (TLMI-B) is an international faith based organization, committed to change the lives of persons affected by leprosy since 1991 as a partner of Government of Bangladesh to eliminate the cause and consequences of leprosy ranging from health and development to advocacy and community empowering. It runs the field based research projects under Rural Health Program (RHP) to strengthen the capacity for leprosy research. It also assists local health administration to operate clinics in government health premises and detect new leprosy cases by building awareness in the community, providing treatment to all new leprosy cases with MDT, managing complications of leprosy, preventing disability by health personnel and referring cases for reconstructive surgery. Currently, it invites applications from the interested and eligible candidates for Leprosy Field Research in Bangladesh Project under Rural Health Program (RHP) based at Notkhana, Nilphamari for the following position:
∎ Job Nature: Project based.
∎ JOB SUMMARY:
∎ This is a senior project staff position which will provide technical support to enhance the skills of GoB Health System staff as well as project staff on leprosy and leprosy related complication and managing complication caused by leprosy at UHC as well as in the community. It will support the project taking appropriate health intervention that support the people affected by leprosy and disability. The position is responsible to build and sustainable relationship with GoB health system.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Visit leprosy clinics(at District and sub-district level ) and other aspects of field work an average of 4 days per week by motorcycle/public transport
∎ Work in cooperation with local GOB health services officers and other partner NGOs on technical matters.
∎ Undertake monitoring of field staff's medical work and their capacity development of Govt. and other health staff to ensure patient safety, confirming new cases of leprosy, advise on management of medical problems in leprosy affected people, make referrals as necessary to other specialists or to DBLM hospital.
∎ Arrange necessary training in coordination with project staff for GoB health personnel.
∎ Provide on job technical support to Govt staff at UHC.
∎ Assist in analysis and reporting of collaborative research studies.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2 years working experience in field based clinical & research work.
∎ Knowledge in epidemiology and dermatology and willing to support research into the epidemiology of leprosy and its transmission.
∎ Should have knowledge of computer operation to ensure accurate and comprehensive data collection for management and analysis.
∎ Must be non-smoker and willing to work under pressure.
Salary:
∎ BDT 50,000-55,000 (negotiable based on experience) gross per month plus other benefit and allowances as per organization policy.
