- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Position Summary: The Executive, Ocean Freight is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of ocean freight operations. This includes coordinating shipments, managing relationships with shipping lines and other stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ocean freight logistics, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the scheduling and coordination of ocean freight shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
Prepare, review, and manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs declarations, ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations and company policies.
Ensuring compliance with local shipping regulations and customs policies.
Develop and maintain relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners.
Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and service providers to secure cost-effective transportation solutions.
Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates on shipment status and addressing any issues or concerns.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
Monitor and control shipping costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Optimize shipping routes and methods to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
Address and resolve issues or discrepancies related to ocean freight services, including shipment delays, damages, and customs issues.
Implement corrective actions and process improvements to prevent recurrence of issues.
Work closely with internal teams, including sales, procurement, and warehouse operations, to coordinate logistics activities and support overall supply chain efficiency.
Generate and analyse regular reports on shipment status, operational performance, and financial metrics.
Identify trends and areas for improvement, making data-driven recommendations to enhance service delivery.
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies in ocean freight logistics.
Conduct research on competitive offerings and provide insights to enhance service offerings.
