Job Description:
As a Higher Studies Counselor at The Student Council, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students through the complex process of pursuing higher education. You will provide expert advice and support to students and their families, assisting them in making informed decisions regarding their academic and career pathways. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting one-on-one counseling sessions with students to understand their educational backgrounds, interests, and aspirations.
- Assessing students` academic qualifications, extracurricular activities, and career objectives to develop personalized higher education plans.
- Researching and evaluating various academic institutions, programs, and scholarships to match students with suitable options.
- Assisting students with the application process, including preparing application materials, writing essays, and securing letters of recommendation.
- Providing guidance on standardized tests such as SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, and TOEFL/IELTS, including test preparation strategies.
- Organizing informational workshops, seminars, and events to educate students and parents about higher education opportunities.
- Building and maintaining relationships with universities, colleges, and scholarship providers to stay updated on admission requirements and opportunities.
- Keeping abreast of trends and developments in higher education and advising students accordingly.
