Job Context:
∎ HI has been working in Bangladesh since 1997, focusing on creating sustainable changes to ensure the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities in society. HI is an independent and impartial aid organization working in poverty, exclusion, conflict, and disaster situations throughout Bangladesh. With projects in different districts of the country, HI works not only with people with disabilities and other vulnerable populations, but also with their families, their communities, and local humanitarian actors in order to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions, promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights, and provide sustainability in its action. As one of the key organizations in the disability sector, HI has a wide range of projects which assist in promoting the inclusion of persons with disabilities and their issues in emergency and development contexts, building capacities of local stakeholders, and reducing the impact of natural and human-made disasters. Particularly in Cox`s Bazar district, HI is providing services in rehabilitation, MH/PSS, SRH, protection, and inclusive education with an inclusion mainstreaming approach to refugees and host populations affected by the forcibly displaced undocumented Myanmar nationals. HI`s multi-sectoral mobile units (MU) and static approach are currently working in 15 camps located in both Teknaf and Ukhiya Upazilas and surrounding host areas providing comprehensive services in physical rehabilitation, primary health care, protection, and MHPSS.
∎ HI is currently implementing a development and humanitarian response project in Kurigram, and Cox`s Bazar district through 4 project offices (Kurigram, Ukhiya, and Teknaf) and 2 coordination offices (Dhaka and Cox Bazar).
∎ Operational Thematic: Livelihood, Health and Rehabilitation, Protection, Inclusion, Education, and Atlas Logistics
∎ Number of staff: Around 294 National staff and 06 international staff
∎ HI is currently looking for a Driver, under the supervision of the General Service Supervisor/General Facility Supervisor, the driver transports cargo and persons. He/she is responsible for the efficient use of the road vehicles assigned to him/her. He or she is the point person for the vehicle fleet manager and as such informs him or her of any problems that fall within his or her remit and suggests solutions.
∎ He/she contributes to the implementation of HI’s logistics standards.

∎ Line Manager: General Service Supervisor/ General Facility Supervisor
∎ Type of Contract: Fixed-term
∎ Duration of the Contract: As early as possible to 31 December 2023

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Mission 1: Participates in the definition of the logistics section of the StratOp and implements the action plan for facilities management.
∎ RISKS: Forwards to his/her line manager the information needed to update the risk map for his or her area of responsibility and implements corrective mitigation measures in his/her area of responsibility.
∎ INCIDENTS: Forwards to his/her line manager the information needed to draft incident reports for his area of responsibility, if required.
∎ INDICATORS: Forwards to his/her line manager the information needed to produce the dashboard for the transport of persons.
∎ Mission 2: Deploys the standards and contributes to HI’s expertise and accountability within his or her remit:
∎ STANDARDS: applies HI standards for his or her entire professional field with regard to policy, processes, and tools.
∎ LOCAL ADAPTATION: applies these standards, contextualized to meet local conditions and regulations.
∎ ACCOUNTABILITY uses internal rules and the rules of institutional donors in his/her fields of activity.
∎ Mission 3: Operational implementation of logistics
∎ 3.1 Diagnostic phase – Contextual analysis:
∎ Participates in analyzing the programme’s logistics context (evaluation of logistics capacities, table of logistics problems).
∎ Evaluates the capacities of the available and mobilizable resources (human and material).
∎ 3.2 Implementation phase:
∎ Is responsible for the safety of passengers until arrival at destination.
∎ Drives the vehicles provided in accordance with the legislation in the application.
∎ Is responsible for ensuring his/her passengers’ compliance with the legislation in the application.
∎ Is responsible for loading his/her vehicle and its conformity/safety (if applicable).
∎ Is responsible for the cargo transported until unloading at destination (if applicable).
∎ Adapts his/her driving to the requirements of the products/resources and carries out controls (temperature, strapping...) while respecting the specific rules (if any).
∎ Monitors servicing deadlines for the vehicles assigned to him/her and makes the necessary reminders to his/her line manager (if required).
∎ Mission 4: Facilitation of the professional sector
∎ Participates in facilitating the organization’s profession sector (community of practice).
∎ Mission 5: Emergency Preparedness and Response Responsibilities
∎ contributes to the program's emergency preparedness actions and, during an emergency, adapt his/her work modality to contribute to HI’s effective humanitarian response.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 54 years
∎ Experience working with INGO/International Organizations will be given preference.
∎ Good Interpersonal communication skills.
∎ Can communicate fluently in Bangla.
∎ Able to understand and communicate in English.
∎ Have a clean valid professional driving license of at least 05 years.
∎ Knowledge of safety and security issues.
∎ Must have well knowledge of all traffic systems in the country.
∎ Able to write log book properly (daily vehicle checklist, passenger information, Kilometer, details of visiting areas, etc).
∎ Knowledge of computer skills is an asset.
∎ Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, vehicle management, problem-solving skills, and driving under extreme conditions.
∎ The person should be polite, honest, serving attitude, have patience, stay alert about their surroundings self-discipline, have time management skills, be physically fit, sensitive to gender issues and adhere to the HI Code of Conduct.

∎ Tk. 37346 - 40837 (Monthly)
∎ Salary will be determined based on experience, qualification, and budget availability.
