Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Job Description:
∎ The Dorm Manager will lead a team of 3-5 full time staff to manage all aspects of the two dormitories operated by Speak Up Bangladesh in Khulna.
∎ These dormitories currently house between 150-170 young women from 8th grade through higher education, a span of ages from 13 to 23.
∎ The main job duties of the Dorm Manager will include:
∎ Managing all aspects of dormitory budgeting, accounting, and financial planning;
∎ Managing the counseling and mentoring and personal development of up to 170 dormitory residents, including developing a Personal Growth Plan for each dormitory resident;
∎ Overseeing the educational progress of dormitory residents;
∎ Leading a team of 3-4 other dormitory staff and cooks to handle all dormitory functions; Collaborating with other Speak Up staff to coordinate efforts with Speak Up’s Girls Empowerment Program based in slums and villages around Khulna Division;
∎ Occasional field visits to dormitory residents’ homes and communication with parents of dormitory residents;
∎ Ensuring a safe, healthy, and vibrant environment in both Speak Up dormitories, including oversight of issues such as health, safety, living arrangements, meal systems, dormitory upkeep and cleaning; and (8) any other dormitory issues that will invariably arise over time.
∎ The Dorm Manager will report to the Speak Up Bangladesh Country Director and be part of the Senior Leadership Team for the Girls Empowerment Program which coordinates efforts between all departments of the GEP. In the future the Dorm Manager may report directly to the Speak Up Bangladesh City Director.
∎ Workplace: Sonadanga, Khulna, in Speak Up Bangladesh Dormitory and Offices.

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Negotiable salary 30,000 to 50,000 Taka monthly dependent on experience
∎ Annual Bonus of 25,000 Taka
∎ Salary increase after 3 months probation period
∎ 10% Provident Fund in addition to monthly salary
∎ Sick days provided in addition to all national holidays
∎ Full-time hours with frequent night hours managing a dorm that is open 24 hours every day
