∎ Heart to Heart Foundation Bangladesh, a South Korean non-governmental humanitarian organization working for underprivileged people in poverty and diseases since 2009, is pleased to announce a vacant position working for the eye specialist, project named `Eye Health Promotion and Prevention of Blindness in Selected Areas` based in Savar, Dhamrai Area. Only Bangladeshi nationals may apply for this position.
∎ Name of Project: Project for Eye Health Promotion and Prevention of Blindness
∎ in Selected Area of Bangladesh
∎ Project Site: Savar and Dhamrai Upazila
∎ Project Period: 2020.01.01-2023.09.30.
∎ Project Purpose:To improve in quality and quantity of cataract surgery and distribute the eye health service and blindness prevention in the community to reduce avoidable blindness in accordance with the National Eye Care Plan of the Government of Bangladesh through the utilization of Bangladesh-Korea Friendship Hospital (BKFH) in Savar, Bangladesh
∎ Project Objectives:
∎ Establish and operate vision centers at Savar and Dhamrai Upazila Health Complex and Dhaka Export Promotion Zone Hospital
∎ Offer primary eye health education to eye care providers in communities, primary schools, and EPZ factories
∎ Perform outreach(eye camp) for promotion eye health in communities and primary schools
∎ Develop IEC materials for raising awareness of eye health promotion and distribute to communities, primary schools, and EPZ factories
∎ Support free spectacles for patients with refraction error in communities, primary schools and EPZ factories.
∎ Refer patients required of surgery from vision centers to Bangladesh Korea Friendship Hospital
∎ Employment Status
∎ Full-time / Contractual_ 2021 May ~ 2021 Dec. Extendable
∎ Working hours 08:00-16:00 (Sat-Thu)
∎ Start Date 3rd week May 2021
∎ Base Location Savar & Dhamrai Upazila
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Doctor will be basically responsible for providing basic medical servicesincluding diagnosis and prescription at outreach (Vision Camp) and Vision Centers,
∎ Additionally, supporting eye-health related education to health workers and teachers for eye health promotion of community.
∎ Willing to work with Rural community people
∎ Provide medical service in eye camp.
∎ Screening and diagnosis for eye health
∎ Providingsimple treatment
∎ Providing prescription (Medicine, Referral, Glasses, etc.)
∎ Provide eye-health education to Health worker and Elementary school teacher.
∎ Prepare education module
∎ Provide eye health education
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 30 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Experience in managing community eye health project or related Public health project will be preferred
∎ Basic knowledge and skills in development and implementation of health programs.
∎ Basic computer skills on MS Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
∎ Professional fluence in English - both written and verbal
∎ Able to undertake travel as required
∎ Strong commitment to the mission and vision of Heart to Heart Foundation
∎ Strong commitment and compassion to community and underprivileged people
Salary:
∎ Negotiable ( BDT-68000) / month include VAT&TAX)
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Festival Bonus 2 times (provide 50% after 6 working months, 50% after 1 year)'
∎ (Total Festival bonus will provide half-by-half)
