Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Ensure accurate receipt, storage, and issuance of yarn as per the production plan.
∎ Maintain optimal stock levels and reorder points to avoid overstocking or shortages.
∎ Ensure compliance with safety protocols for handling and storing yarn.
∎ Monitor stock aging and ensure timely utilization to reduce waste.
∎ Supervise yarn unloading, inspection, storage, and issuance.
∎ Coordinate with production, planning, and procurement departments for timely availability.
∎ Ensure systematic stacking, labeling, and binning of all yarn materials.
∎ Supervise store assistants, forklift operators, and labor staff.
∎ Train team members on best practices in safety, inventory handling, and documentation.
∎ Implement FIFO (First in First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry First Out) practices for yarn movement.
∎ Minimize damage or contamination of yarn through proper handling practices.
∎ Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization within the store area.
