Job Context:
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices in Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet. CB is implementing 87 on-going projects covering 209 upazila focusing on six main priorities i.e i) Social Welfare and Community Development, ii) Quality Education, iii) Health Care and Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Development and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is looking for suitable candidates (men and women) for immediate appointment as well as to prepare panel list for USAID/OFDA supported SOKKHOMOTA (Collaborate, Prepare and Resilient to Natural and Human Induced disasters) project in Ukhiya upazila of Cox`s Bazar District under Caritas Chattogram Region. This is a 24 months Project which aim is to help the communities within Cox`s Bazar district become less vulnerable to the loss and damage of natural and human induced hazards/shocks.
∎ The details of the positions including job responsibilities, educational qualification and other qualities/competency required for the above positions are given below for your information:
∎ Job Location: Ukhiya, Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The community organizer will be the first direct points of contact for the target beneficiaries. They will be responsible for day-to-day implementation of operations, collection of field-level data, mobilizing the communities, and program solving.
∎ Work under direct supervision of the upazila coordinator.
∎ Lead implementation of project activities at the community level.
∎ Work in coordination with the Upazila coordinator, M&E Officer, Accountant of Caritas and technical leads of other partner from various disciplines for smooth implementation of the project activities.
∎ Liaise with the stakeholders (Government and Non-government) at the union and para level to seek their support in project implementation and update them on progress of the project.
∎ Select community and beneficiaries as per the project criteria.
∎ Train beneficiaries on different issues such as DRR, livelihood, Savings and lending etc.
∎ Collect data using various monitoring tools as per the M&E framework of the project.
∎ Ensure audit trails are available for the data collected
∎ Prepare monthly plan based on the project DIP and assess its' progress periodically.
∎ Liaise with local administration, people representatives, and elite persons in the para & Union.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ At least 2 years' DRR/livelihood project related experience desirable. Experience in particular DRR project would be an added advantage.
∎ Good command in Chitagonian and Bangla.
∎ Basic Computer skill.
∎ Coordination, community engagement, mobilization and relationship building skills.
∎ Networking, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
∎ Report-writing skills.
∎ Organizing and facilitation skills.
∎ Ability to travel and work in different areas.

Salary:
∎ Monthly Consolidated Salary: Taka 15,000/-
