Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Contract: Prepare and review contracts, agreements, and legal documents related to construction projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, specifications, and client requirements.
∎ 2.Construction Method Statement: Prepare, edit, and improve construction method statements for construction projects. This involves detailing the step-by-step procedures, techniques, and safety measures required to carry out the construction work effectively and efficiently. The engineer should have the knowledge and ability to create comprehensive and clear method statements that address various aspects of the construction process, including site preparation, material handling, equipment usage, and work sequencing. Continuous review and improvement of method statements to enhance productivity, safety, and quality are also part of this responsibility.
∎ 3.Construction Planning: Develop comprehensive construction plans and schedules, considering factors such as resource allocation, material procurement, labor management, and coordination with subcontractors.
∎ 4.Billing and Cost Control: Monitor project costs and expenses, prepare accurate billing documents, review and approve invoices, and implement cost control measures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
∎ 5.Measurement and Quantity Estimation: Take accurate measurements of construction quantities, prepare detailed quantity estimates, and perform quantity surveys to support cost estimation, material procurement, and project progress evaluation.
∎ 6.AutoCAD Design and Drafting: Utilize AutoCAD software to create detailed engineering drawings, design plans, and technical specifications for construction projects, ensuring accuracy, adherence to standards, and compatibility with architectural and structural plans.
∎ 7.Estimating and Proposal Preparation: Assess new work assigned by the contractor, analyze project requirements, and prepare detailed cost estimates. This includes determining labor, material, and equipment costs, and considering factors such as project scope, specifications, and timeline. Based on the estimate, the engineer will then prepare a comprehensive proposal or quotation to present to the contractor, showcasing the proposed cost and scope of work to secure the job.
∎ 8.Email Communication and Documentation: Engage in regular email communication with clients to maintain effective and transparent communication channels. This includes documenting important project discussions, decisions, and agreements via email to create a comprehensive record of communication. By maintaining a clear and documented trail of email correspondence, the engineer helps mitigate potential future challenges or disputes by providing evidence and clarity regarding project-related discussions, instructions, and changes.
