∎ · Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification will be preferred.
∎ · Required to extensive experience in dredging operations, including a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.
∎ · Have to Strong technical knowledge of dredging equipment, techniques, and engineering principles.
∎ · Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
∎ · Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and software.
∎ · Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and environmental considerations in dredging projects. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ · Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop project plans, including scope, timelines, and resource requirements. Assess project feasibility and identify potential challenges or constraints.
∎ · Evaluate and select appropriate dredging equipment and techniques based on project requirements, site conditions, and environmental considerations. This may include cutter suction dredgers, trailing suction hopper dredgers, hydraulic dredgers, or other specialized equipment.
∎ · Develop engineering designs and specifications for dredging activities, including dredge layouts, dredge pump systems, pipeline configurations, and sediment disposal methods. Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental best practices.
∎ · Conduct site investigations and hydrographic surveys to assess sediment characteristics, bathymetry, and other relevant factors. Analyze survey data to inform dredging planning and design decisions.
∎ · Develop strategies for sediment management, including dredged material disposal, beneficial reuse, or placement in designated containment areas. Coordinate with environmental regulators and stakeholders to ensure compliance with sediment disposal regulations and environmental permits.
∎ · Provide technical oversight and support during dredging operations, including monitoring equipment performance, sediment removal efficiency, and safety compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues as they arise to minimize project delays or disruptions.
∎ · Implement quality assurance protocols to monitor dredging activities and ensure adherence to project specifications and performance standards. Conduct inspections and assessments to verify the quality of dredged material and compliance with contractual requirements.
∎ · Ensure dredging activities comply with environmental regulations and permits, including requirements related to water quality, sediment disturbance, and protected species. Implement erosion control measures and environmental monitoring programs as necessary to minimize environmental impacts.
∎ · Ensuring sufficient fuel, spores etc. which are held on board to sustain at least 24-hour continuous operations.
∎ · Supervising engine crew and coordinates daily engine operation and equipment repairs/overhauling.
∎ · Tracking daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports and inspections.
