∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, preferably in a fleet management environment.
∎ Strong understanding of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical components, and braking systems.
∎ Ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and develop effective repair solutions.
∎ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with drivers, workshop personnel, and management.
∎ Sound knowledge in BRTA rules and regulations.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on company vehicles according to manufacturer guidelines and established schedules.
∎ Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on vehicles.
∎ Perform minor repairs and adjustments, including oil changes, brake replacements, tire rotations, and fluid level checks.
∎ Coordinate major repairs with external workshops, ensuring quality and timely completion.
∎ Allocation of transports - indoor/outdoor.
∎ Maintain detailed records of vehicle service history, including repair details, parts used, and maintenance costs.
∎ Monitor fuel consumption and identify areas for improvement.
∎ Track vehicle registration, insurance, and fitness certificates to ensure compliance.
∎ Analyze fleet data to identify trends (fuel) and make recommendations for vehicle acquisition or replacement strategies.
∎ Regular Renewal of documentation/license/registration on time.
∎ Checking the bill voucher of transports/drivers/helpers.
∎ Leave management.
∎ Hire transport on a need basis.
∎ Evaluation of driver’s performance and transport utilization.
∎ Ensure all vehicles are in safe operating condition and comply with road safety regulations.
∎ Conduct pre-trip inspections and identify potential safety hazards.
∎ Educate drivers on proper vehicle maintenance and safe driving practices.
∎ Prepare and manage maintenance budgets for the vehicle fleet.
∎ Negotiate repair costs (work request cases) with external service providers.
∎ Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
∎ Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
∎ Understand and interpret vehicle schematics and technical manuals.
∎ Evaluate new vehicle models and recommend potential purchases based on performance and operational needs.
