Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure the proper maintenance and repair of all machinery, equipment, and systems used in the rice milling process, including cleaning, lubrication, and timely servicing.
∎ Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery. This involves creating maintenance checklists, setting maintenance intervals, and ensuring regular inspections.
∎ Coordinate and manage emergency repairs in case of breakdowns or malfunctions, minimizing production downtime and ensuring quick resolutions.
∎ Lead a team of maintenance technicians and mechanics, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a skilled and efficient workforce.
∎ Maintain an inventory of spare parts and necessary supplies to facilitate quick repairs and replacements. Develop a system to track inventory levels and reorder when necessary.
∎ Prepare and manage the maintenance department's budget, allocating funds for repairs, spare parts, tools, and any necessary outsourcing of maintenance tasks.
∎ Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and servicing. Maintain logs, reports, and documentation of equipment history, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
∎ Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and industry standards. Implement safety protocols and train maintenance staff on proper safety procedures.
∎ Identify areas for process improvement within the maintenance department to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize equipment performance.
∎ Collaborate with other departments, such as production and procurement, to coordinate maintenance activities without disrupting ongoing operations. Communicate maintenance schedules and any potential impacts on production.
∎ Establish and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers, contractors, and service providers for outsourced repairs, spare parts procurement, and specialized maintenance tasks.
∎ Utilize your technical expertise to diagnose complex equipment issues and develop solutions to address them.
∎ Stay updated with the latest advancements in maintenance technology and techniques. Provide training and professional development opportunities for your maintenance team.
∎ Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, such as equipment uptime, mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), and maintenance costs. Use these metrics to track performance and make informed decisions.
