• Good knowledge of Custom Sarkar and Jetty Sarkar operations.
• Familiarity with ASYCUDA World, HS Code classification, customs regulations, and port procedures.
• Proficient in computer applications, especially MS Excel.
• Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities & Context
Handle customs clearance, including bill of entry, assessment, examination, duty/tax payment, and cargo release.
Supervise Custom Sarkar and Jetty Sarkar activities at the customs house, port, jetty, CFS/ICD, and shipping line.
Coordinate with customs, the port authority, shipping agents, freight forwarders, transporters, and clients.
Ensure timely cargo delivery and avoid demurrage, detention, misdeclaration, penalties, or delays.
Check import/export documents such as BL, invoice, packing list, LC/LCA, insurance, and DO.
Prepare advance requisitions and submit bills with supporting documents.
Maintain shipment files and records; update management regularly; ensure compliance with the Customs Act and NBR rules (HS Code, SRO, VAT, AIT, AT, RD, and SD); control costs; and maintain strict confidentiality.
